Fringe Season 5 Trailer

SEASON 5 SNEAK PEEK | A trailer approved for “all members of the resistance” (watch it below) showcased some new footage – even though the series hasn’t officially started production yet. (How? The cast took time out to film some scenes for the reel, including touching moments between Peter and Olivia.) “[Etta]‘s everything I ever hoped she’d become,” said Olivia, to which Peter replied, “Just like her mother,” before deciding to fight back against the Observers by creating some of their own fringe events. Meanwhile, Walter declares, “I know how to rid our world of the Observers!” and “We…

When the Fox thriller returns on Sept. 28, the action picks up the day after Season 4′s 2036-set “Letters in Transit” episode left off — with an Olivia-less Fringe crew joining the war against the Observers.

The following exclusive teaser shows the invaders marching toward the screen as a series of voiceovers recount the team’s gradual understanding of the chrome domed enigmas.

I am really looking forward to this final season of Fringe. I’ve followed the show from the beginning and I’ve loved every minute of it. Very few missteps and very minor quibbles. I’m a little sad that this is…

Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams Team Up for ‘Trouble With The Curve’

Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams Team Up for ‘Trouble With The Curve’
Total Film

It seemed as though he had all but retired after Gran Torino back in 2008, but Clint Eastwood is back on the big screen once more in baseball drama Trouble With The Curve, the first trailer for which has just arrived online.

Eastwood plays a grizzled old baseball scout whose body is beginning to fail him in his old age. When his daughter (Amy Adams) offers to lend a hand on one last scouting trip, Clint grudgingly agrees, only for the two to explore some home truths on their way around the country.

Justin Timberlake drops in for the ride as Adams’ ball-playing love interest while John…

Joseph and I had a brief conversation about this upcoming film yesterday. Let’s just say I may give him a new nick-name like, the burster of bubbles, or the crusher of dreams… perhaps kite anchor…

In any event, he is of the line of thinking that it’s a fun premise but won’t amount to anything. My cynical side actually agrees. But I’d rather hold out hope. The trailer looks awesome, and of course the two lead actors are awesome, what could go wrong, right?

Well, lots could go wrong I suppose, but I’m still going to wait and see how it goes. For the moment, I’m trying not to get my hopes…

Joss Whedon ‘Boycott’

Joss Whedon ‘Boycott’
Slashfilm

To date, Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers has only grossed $617.3 million in the United States and Box Office Mojo reports it’s barely playing on 200 screens. That’s unacceptable, says the writer/director, who released a video damming the upcoming film Sleepwalk With Me from stealing some of those precious, and much needed screens.

Joss’ video is hilarious, tongue-in-cheek humor, as you would expect from him. I was not aware of the film before. I’m still not sure if it would be any good, but I am now aware of it. Check out Joss’ boycott video below and the trailer for Sleepwalk With…

Behind-the-scenes with Wreck-it Ralph

Behind-the-scenes with Wreck-it Ralph

I love the behind-the-scenes of an interesting behind-the-scenes sort of film. Wreck-It Ralph is one of these cases.

For a terrific behind-the-scenes scoop, here’s Germain Lussier:

Wreck-It Ralph is the title of the movie and also the main character (Reilly) who for 30 years has been a bad guy inside of an 8-bit video game, Fix It Felix Jr. One day he decides he doesn’t want to be the bad guy anymore and escapes his game into other ones in the arcade, trying to prove he can be a hero. Along the way, he’ll encounter multiple different games, characters and more, which are detailed…

If you’ll indulge me a moment, I need to get the last vestiges of The Dark Knight Trilogy out of my system by way of posting this trailer. It’s epic, and really well done, even if it is a bit long. Very nicely intercut with all sorts of clips from all three films. It makes me want to watch the trilogy again. And given that I just watched it all recently, that’s quite a feat.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

Total Recall — Review

3.5 of 5 stars
Total Recall

From the moment I saw the trailer for this film, I knew I wanted to go see it. I’m a pretty big fan of Minority Report, as well as The Matrix, and this film appeared as though it would have similar thematic elements from both of those films. Additionally, I’ve only seen Colin Farrell a couple times, but he’s been good in what I have seen. I particularly enjoyed The Recruit.

When I first saw the trailer however, I was not aware that it was a remake of an Arnold Schwarzenegger film. But if I had been aware, I think I would have wanted to see it all the more, not being a big Schwarzenegger…

‘The Hobbit’ Reworked Trailer

‘The Hobbit’ Reworked Trailer
Slash Film

This one follows more or less the same trajectory as the debut trailer, with a reintroduction to Bilbo Baggins (Ian Holm, briefly, and Martin Freeman, primarily), Gandalf (Ian McKellen), and the world of Middle-Earth. But there is some new footage this time, just a bit, with a few shots cut into what we’ve already seen.

Even with my irritation with Peter Jackson on some things as I mentioned previously, it’s getting hard not to get excited about this film. Here’s the reworked trailer.

“Cloud Atlas” explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.

In many ways this film looks like it could be interesting, and it is from the creators of The Matrix which I greatly enjoyed. It looks like it has some very interesting elements. The trailer was very long, and at first it was a bit…
