Joe and TJ are joined for this very special episode of the show by a very special guest — Jim Metzendorf — to discuss one of the great classics of our time, ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’. No matter what George Lucas has done or continues to do, he did give us this great film and we shall forever be grateful. So tune in to have some great fun and a lot of analysis (and over-analysis as well) of a dearly beloved film. The guys also talk about Roberto Orci leaving the director’s chair for the upcoming ‘Star Trek’ Film, TNG’s ‘All Good Things’ stand-alone Blu-ray release, Evangeline Lilly’s statements about ‘Ant Man’ and Edgar Wright, and the first trailer for ‘Terminator Genisys’.

Roberto Orci is giving up the helm of the USS Enterprise, and will no longer direct the third installment of Paramount Pictures’ “Star Trek” franchise, sources confirmed to Variety.
Wow, “All Good Things…” is 20-years old. It’s still a shining example of what Trek in the mid-90’s could be. It’s quite telling that Brannon Braga and Ron D. Moore excitedly hammered out this loving wrap-up to Next Gen in a matter of days, while with Generations they spent much more time on it, fretting about the motion picture debut of the TNG crew, and it is hardly the unanimous success that “All Good Things…” is.
“All Good Things…” is great TNG-era Trek.
“I thought Edgar’s idea to blend the [Hank and Scott] stories was brilliant,” Lilly told Buzzfeed about Wright’s approach. “You’re going to have fans up there who insist that you tell the story of Hank Pym, and fans up there who will be more on the Scott Lang side of it. … I think we are going to come close to pleasing them all.” But when Wright exited the movie, things were then thrown up in the air.
Remember when Arnold said, “I’ll be back” in that first Terminator film? Well, he wasn’t joking, because he’s back. Again. And he looks old.
Movies are bedtime stories for adults, and Star Wars has become my favorite. From the very beginning of the film “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…” to the glorious Star Wars music fanfare that resounds during the end credits, it is just an epic bedtime story.
TJ and Joe are joined by Linsay Morgan to discuss ‘Star Wars’. And oh do they discuss it. Joe and Linsay think it may be the best film ever made. TJ has reservations. The discussion is lively and fun, you won’t want to miss it!
It is into our modern landscape that a fan has created a more modern feeling trailer for the best Star Wars film, The Empire Strikes Back.
So how fast is the Millennium Falcon’s hyperdrive, anyway?
My conclusion is that this part of the film is an unsolved mystery because Stormtroopers are not accurate and Obi-Wan only assumed it was them because of the accuracy they were renowned for when he fought in the Clone Wars.
After the rebels have been brutally overpowered by the Empire on their newly established base, Luke Skywalker takes advanced Jedi training with Master Yoda, while his friends are pursued by Darth Vader as part of his plan to capture Luke.
Critics Consensus: Dark, sinister, but ultimately even more involving than A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back defies viewer expectations and takes the series to heightened emotional levels.
