MGM and Warner Bros. announced they are teaming with Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin to create a re-imagined trilogy based on the sci-fi hit Stargate, one of the biggest titles in the MGM library. Emmerich, who directed and co-wrote the original film with Devlin, is on board to direct this one, with Devlin producing.
Smith criticizes the title but says it makes sense because, as he understand it, the film isn’t a Man of Steel sequel any more. Instead it’s the beginning of a five- or six-film Justice League story.
Ant-Man is getting new director. Edgar Wright has just dropped out of the Marvel movie, owing to “differences in their vision of the film.” Paul Rudd is still leading the cast of the superhero film, which also stars Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly.
Edgar Wright and Marvel are in that awkward, post-break-up stage, when it’s a good idea to stay off of social media because you can’t trust what you might possibly say about the other party.
About 3 months ago, Marvel had notes. The meat of the notes were about the core morality of the piece, must include franchise characters. etc., These notes came from the big four at Marvel. Joe Cornish and Edgar Wright did two drafts to try and answer the notes without compromising their vision.
This film is an animated collaboration between Marvel and Disney. It’s a Marvel property and Disney owns Marvel so no big surprises there.
Big Hero 6 is a team of fictional comic book superheroes appearing in Marvel Comics. They first appeared in Sunfire and Big Hero 6 #1 (September 1998), though they were created by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau in the pages of Alpha Flight, volume 2.
THR reports that he’ll direct one of the upcoming “Star Wars” spin-offs. Of course, given the shroud of secrecy around those movies, it’s not clear which one it will be, but rumors abound.
At the end of The Wolverine, Logan has bone claws. In the dark future of Future Past, he has adamantium claws.
