Neill Blomkamp is adding a bit of star power to Chappie. Hugh Jackman confirmed in a recent interview that he is set for a supporting role in the film, which centers around a robot police officer (voiced by Sharlto Copley) who’s kidnapped by hoodlums (Die Antwoord’s Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er).
I’m not going to pretend I’m suddenly interested in this film — Elysium really put me off Blomkamp films for sure — but the addition of Hugh Jackman is certainly interesting to me. Maybe this film will actually be good? But Elysium really calls into question Blomkamps filmmaking as far as I’m concerned…
