Lionsgate today confirmed an earlier rumor that four-time Academy Award® nominee Julianne Moore (Boogie Nights, The Hours, The End of the Affair, Far From Heaven) has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 as President Alma Coin, the leader of the rebellion against the Capitol.
I’ve mentioned before that she was at least in the running to play the role of President Coin. While I’m not a huge fan or anything and think that occasionally she’s not such a great actress, I actually can’t think of anyone better for this particular role. I applaud this casting choice.
