Edge of Tomorrow has been getting really great reviews so far — at least what few of them we’ve been getting. Sure, Tom Cruise is playing a reluctant hero in a futurestic Sci-Fi film, and you might think that would get old. But so far, I’ve just not gotten tire of it.
I liked Oblivion last year, but I think I’ll like this one a lot better even than that. The film is based on the novel, All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka and is directed by Doug Liman of The Bourne Identity fame (so how could this not be good, right?).
In addition to Tom Cruise, the film co-stars Emily Blunt, who did great work in Looper and made me an instant fan. It looks to me like her work here is stellar from what I can tell.
