Devlin hinted at what form the nextStargate movie may take, hinting that perhaps it may retell the story of the Gate’s discovery.
“Twenty years later, we can’t really do part two,” he said. “We have to start over from the beginning. So let’s reboot the series, put in all the things we couldn’t the first time, and set it up properly.”
Translation: We didn’t really get to do what we wanted to do with the original movie, or finish our trilogy. We know that there’s a lot of work out there since our movie, but we don’t like it and don’t want anything to do with it. We know there’s a big fanbase out there that loves the TV shows. So here’s a big, giant middle finger to all of those people.
Me: Sigh. I don’t know why this irritated me so much to read because all of this has been exactly what I was expecting.
