Honest Action - Home Alone

Honest Action - Home Alone

Screen Junkies just keep cranking ‘em out. You know maybe some of you have just recenlty seen Home Alone, since it’s kind of a Christmas movie. Maybe it’s a Christmas tradition? Well I didn’t see it, but this kind of makes me want to go back and watch it again. Because no matter how stupid and implausible, it’s just fun. And so is this video.

Have you ever wondered how many lives your favorite action hero would really need to survive a movie? We asked an actual doctor to answer that question for us in Screen Junkies’ new series “Honest Action.” Next up, The Wet Bandits in Home Alone.

Stan Lee to Appear on ‘Agents of SHIELD’
Kimberly Nordyke - The Hollywood Reporter

After weeks of speculation, Stan Lee has confirmed that he will appear in an upcoming episode of ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.

While details on just whom he will play are unclear, Lee—who also serves as an executive producer on the freshman series—tells The Hollywood Reporter that it’s a “big role.” The episode—see the first-look photo above—will most likely air Feb. 4, though that is subject to change.

I just love that old guy!

ILM’s Visual Effects for ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’

ILM’s Visual Effects for ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’

Star Trek Into Darkness was a lot better than J.J.‘s first film in this new, rebooted universe in my opinion, but man holy cow! there’s a lot of CGI in it.

ILM has released to videos to showcase the work they did on the film. The first is really a sort of visual effects reel of the overall film. The second features commentary from Roger Guyett, Visual Effects Supervisor, and Paul Kavanahg, Animation Supervisor. They talk about all some of the things that went into making the red planet look as it did.

“Star Trek Into Darkness” contains over 1600 visual effects shots, created by Industrial…

Armond White Heckles Steve McQueen

Armond White Heckles Steve McQueen
Entertainment Weekly

When McQueen was presented the best director award Monday night by Harry Belafonte, critic Armond White allegedly jeered McQueen as “an embarrassing doorman and garbage man.”

In an email to 12 Years a Slave distributor Fox Searchlight first posted online by Deadline, NYFCC chairman Joshua Rothkopf apologized to McQueen for “the crass bit of heckling” he encountered. Rothkopf said he was “mortified” that it came from one of the group’s own members and pledged “disciplinary action.”

I don’t care what he thought of the film, that was disgusting and classless.

‘First Stars I See Tonight’ - Short Film Staring Elle Fanning

‘First Stars I See Tonight’ - Short Film Staring Elle Fanning

This is a fun little short film staring Elle Fanning as a girl recounting her experience of seeing stars for the first time after having been diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa from a very early age. It’s a great little story, and man can Elle Fanning put on a charming Scottish accent or what? The visual effects are also interesting. It was all shot on green screen and all elements around the actors were added in.

Very sweet little film.

‘Kite’ - 9 Minutes Worth of Trailer and Clips

‘Kite’ - 9 Minutes Worth of Trailer and Clips

I haven’t heard of this film before now, but after watching I’m actually a little intersted. It’s almost a bit much for me in its violence and grittiness, but I feel like there might be a good story here. Sometimes I am right about these things and sometimes I am wrong.

This upcoming film is apparently based on an anime film from 1998. Who knows what kind of weird things that will make the filmmakers feel like they need to do. But hey, it stars Samuel L. Jackson so it certainly has the potential to be something great because, well, Jackson is awesome.

Some ‘Batman Vs. Superman’ Info

Some ‘Batman Vs. Superman’ Info
Mario-Francisco Robles - Latino Review

Nothing should be taken as confirmed news unless explicitly stated as such,” so let’s keep that in mind as we dive in to what the man’s got to say:

  • Martian Manhunter and Aquaman will not appear in the film.
  • He thinks we’re going to see the first official still of Affleck in costume really soon.
  • Superman/Clark Kent will unequivocally be the main character of Batman vs Superman, meaning this will not be some covert Justice League movie.
  • Lex Luthor will be in the movie, but he will not be the only villain. Jett refuses to reveal the second one, only stating that this other character is…

‘House of Cards’ Season 2 - New Trailer: Hunt or Be Hunted

‘House of Cards’ Season 2 - New Trailer: Hunt or Be Hunted

If there’s one thing I’m really looking forward to in 2014, it’s the release of season 2 of House of Cards. It may be on the cutting edge of where things are headed by being available only on Netflix’s Video On Demand Service, but it’s also one of the most cinematic television shows I have ever watched. I definitely loved the first season for that aspect alone.

But I also loved the look at the political corruption, however dramatized. I think Frank Underwood represents what we all think our politicians may be like, deep down. Kevin Spacey is Underwood is simply amazing. And this trailer is…

Michael Bay Has a Bit of Stage Fright, Walks Off Stage at CES

Michael Bay Has a Bit of Stage Fright, Walks Off Stage at CES

Were you ever in any kind of a play and/or some sort of big production? Well if so, you might be able to relate to Michael Bay. And as much as I don’t like his films (except for the one fluke of his career where he made a really good film, The Island), I really kind of felt bad for him watching this. He went on stage expecting the teleprompter to guide him through, and apparently the teleprompter got messed up and he didn’t know what to do or say. He tried to wing it, and then just walked off the stage. It’s sort of entertaining, but mostly I was just cringing.

See what I mean?

Bay has
