A few weeks ago CBS invited TrekCore to talk with the CBS Digital team responsible for the wondrous restoration and remastering of Star Trek: The Next Generation in high definition. Craig Weiss and his team were very generous with their time and answered a huge number of questions, often very technical in nature. Yes, you were all right. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a good show. In fact, I’d even go so far as to say it’s a great show—maybe not consistently great, but one that more often than not reaches highs I’d have never thought a show with that title, on those networks, was capable of reaching.

Yes, I admit it, I’m a geek. I liked Buffy. So sue me. Certainly seasons one through three. The later seasons began to have more and more issues, but I liked Buffy. So apropos of nothing, I’m sharing it with you. You should read the linked article, it’s fun.

Tron: Legacy is one of those movies that disappointed general audiences but still holds some avid fans. As Ian Buckwalter at NPR pointed out, “Despite all the gloom and grandiosity, this can be a fun movie, particularly for those willing to sit back and let it wash over them.”

Typically audiences concentrate on the virtual reality of Tron’s story, and let the real world moments slip past — but not today. The cool crew over at TheTechFeed and the likes of Revision3 have some kindred spirits that believed the film was entertaining. And like all “cult” fans, they believe the film still holds…

I’m not really sure what to say about this. I don’t really think you could call this a spoiler at all. It’s three frames long. And Conan so the set up is funny.

The “Looper: The Timelines” infographic depicts the life trajectories of the film’s key characters as looping, color-coded ribbons. Each ribbon shows how its characters’ destiny is altered over the course of the film’s three alternate timelines.

2010′s Red was fairly successful, grossing $186.5 million worldwide, so it’s not really a surprise that a sequel, which has just started filming in Canada, was given the greenlight.

Bruce Willis was seen at St Andrew’s United Church in Chateauguay, which was converted into a funeral home for the filming. On the other hand, John Malkovich was only seen walking through the streets of Montreal. Check the pictures out after the jump.

Red was a lot of fun and quite an enjoyable film. I’m looking forward to see what they bring us for Red 2.

Joseph has already asked us, why would you mess with Liam Neeson twice? Now it looks like we get to start seeing early looks at those repercussions.

In this clip I really love the use of the grenade explosion to figure out distance and map intersection and cool things like that. For some reason I never saw the first Taken film. Now I think I’m going to need to do that.

Taken 2 is set to open tomorrow.

“Shakespeare in the park” was a line that Whedon threw to Downey on the day of filming. Downey then ad-libbed “Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?” Similarly, the shawarma aside came up when he asked Whedon for more material following his revival. The director gave him a few options, shawarma among them, which Downey then took and ran with to its glorious conclusion. Saying that the arc reactor was a “terrible privilege” was also an addition of his that Whedon loved.

Also, it’s actually kind of amazing just how good you can make a low budget B movie look these days.
