James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender Imitate Their ‘X-Men’ Counterparts

James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender Imitate Their ‘X-Men’ Counterparts

It’s sort of a cheesy media blitz promotion, but sometimes it’s a lot of fun. Recently Sir Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy interviewed each other, as did Sir Ian McKellan and Michael Fassbender. The results provided in this clip are pretty fun.

Lately, both Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan have been known for being funny and fun, and the word on the street is they are both great to work with and provide a really relaxed atmosphere on the sets they are on.

Understanding The Timeline of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’

Understanding The Timeline of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’
Darren Franich — Entertainment Weekly

Let’s get two things out of the way here: I really liked X-Men: Days of Future Past. And I have complicated feelings about the X-Men movies, but one thing that doesn’t bother me is their screwy internal chronology. I am not a a continuity pedant; the fact that X-Men: First Class directly overrules several parts of X-Men 1 doesn’t lessen my enjoyment of either of them.

So what follows is not meant to nitpick the plot of Future Past. Rather, this is an inquisition, an attempt to seriously understand what the space-time continuum really looks like after it has been twisted into fifty…

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Will Include Original Cast Members

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Will Include Original Cast Members
Angie Han — /Film

From the beginning, we’ve heard that X-Men: Apocalypse would be all about the First Class cast. But apparently, the filmmakers are still saving some room for the original X-Men.

In a new interview, writer Simon Kinberg confirmed that the classic cast would “certainly” be involved, albeit in supporting roles. Previously, only Hugh Jackman was expected to return.

Kinberg gave an unambiguous answer when The Daily Beast asked him about the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse. “It will focus primarily on the First Class cast, but it will certainly have some of the original cast involved, too,” he…

Easter Eggs in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’

Easter Eggs in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’

It should go without saying, but I should say it anyway, that if you haven’t seen X-Men: Days of Future Past, you’ll want to save this for later because there are SPOILERS!

That out of the way, I thought this was a pretty good run down of some of the easter eggs going on in X-Men: Days of Future Past, including some that I didn’t catch. But, although he titles it Every Easter Egg in X-Men: Days of Future Past, I would guess it’s not every one.

Take a look:

Andy Serkis Mocap Video for ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’

Andy Serkis Mocap Video for ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’

Andy Serkis has made quite a name for himself in the motion capture industry. It started, of course, with his motion capture work for Gollum. Back in those days, motion capture had to be in a much more controlled environment. Now he’s actually acting with other actors. It’s pretty crazy stuff.

The technology involved, the craft in filmmaking, the skill with which Serkis performs are all incredible and fascinating to me.

Check out the video.

The Honest Trailer for ‘The X-Men Trilogy’

The Honest Trailer for ‘The X-Men Trilogy’

But don’t worry, they’re sending Wolverine back in time to make sure Brett Ratner never happened.

Love it! I think they got pretty much everything in this trailer right… even as much as I love the first two X-Men films, I love a good Honest Trailer, and this is a good one.

Blu-rays of Unadulterated Original ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy? YES, PLEASE!

Blu-rays of Unadulterated Original ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy? YES, PLEASE!
Linda Ge — Bleeding Cool

Here’s a kind of convoluted rumor for you to chew on as we continue to wait for no news about Star Wars: Episode VII. According to an interesting e-mail we’ve intercepted, and which purports to come from within Disney’s marketing department,  the studio are planning to re-release A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi on DVD/Blu-Ray/On Demand in their original form, without all the things George Lucas changed for the “Special Edition” releases back in 2004.

I want this so very, very badly. I will buy in a hearbeat. And yet, Devin Faraci over at Badass Digest brings me…

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Spoiler FAQ

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Spoiler FAQ
Rob Bricken — io9

What is The Amazing Spider-Man 2 about?

It’s about a man gifted with extraordinary powers who, through hard work and perseverance, finally manages to get his girlfriend killed.

This is awesome and you should click through and read every. single. word!

A couple more samples:

Okay… but that’s good, right?

Well, yes and no. Yes because Harry has access to all his father’s crazy secret projects — which, by the way, is literally in a folder titled “Secret Projects” — and no because that neurogenetic disease that his father succumbed to at the age of 50-something decides this is the week to…

Honest Trailer — ‘Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones’

Honest Trailer — ‘Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones’

“Come on JJ, there’s no way you can do worse than this!”

“...a man forced to act opposite lifeless CGI characters like Hayden Christensen.”

This is hilarious. And, let’s face it, while Attack of the Clones was a way better film than The Phantom Menace, it still only makes it to like a 2.5 out of 5 stars on my own scale. And every one of the criticisms in this trailer hit way to close to home. Hayden Christensen really can’t act — or at least, he didn’t in the Star Wars series. Natalie Portman can act, but the dialog she was forced to say in these films was beyond bad. And it’s hard to act…

How ‘The LEGO Movie’ Should Have Ended

How ‘The LEGO Movie’ Should Have Ended

I loved The LEGO Movie... like, a lot! But that doesn’t mean it is beyond criticism. One of the irritations was indeed the fact that LEGO Superman was stopped by gum! I mean, really!

But beyond that, it’s always fun to see Superman and Batman kickin’ it at the Super Cafe in the HISHE episodes. It’s almost like they are parodying themselves now, and I find that fun.
