It seems to be a thing lately that old action stars feel the need to make a comeback. And many of them haven’t been altogether unsuccessful attempts either. One need look no further than the delightful RED franchise to see that there’s still something there for some of them.

This is definitely one of those super emotional teen drama films in the same vein as The Fault In Our Stars, although somehow this one looks like it may be slightly easier to stomach. There are certain things about stories like this that can tend to resonate with us in our human condition. I often find that stories that have tough choices, sad events, and challenging circumstances make for some of the best and most impactful films. I think this is because we can identify with this even if our lives are pretty good. We know from little experience, and for some of us, big experiences that…

Don’t worry, it doesn’t seem that spoilery to me, and it’s a lot of fun. Where Captain America was full of very serious themes and earth-shaking reveals for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this one feels like it’s just going to be a fun thrill ride. And really, that’s quite alright. As long as there’s a good story there it doesn’t have to be super serious. I expect this film to be just a lot of fun.

I liked Divergent well enough, but it is certainly not without its criticisms, which makes this Honest Trailer so delicious and delightful. And I loved the parts cutting to Jon Bailey in the studio talking about how they had already done this one. Great stuff.

If anyone was wondering whether Radcliffe could do anything with his life and career after Harry Potter, I think we’re seeing our answer. I mean of course there was that whole Equus thing and stuff. But now we get to see him in a film that doesn’t look like it’s going to be too great. Well, when I say “we” I’m not sure that “I” will see him in it.

So it’s here — the full trailer for Big Hero 6. I don’t have a lot to say about this film, but I know everyone is interested in this upcoming collaboration between Marvel and Disney Animation. It’s intriguing, even if it’s based on a relatively unknown property. This trailer definitely makes it looks quirky and probably pretty funny.

Look for the film in theaters on November 7.

Are you guys excited enough yet for Guardians of the Galaxy? Well if you are not, let me help — although I don’t know why you wouldn’t be ecstatic about this film yet. I really didn’t like the film Twelve Monkeys starring Bruce Willis. So color me a little bit skeptical about this TV series. I felt like the film had no story to tell, no real moral to convey, and no interesting characterization. I know people are going to argue this with me, but when you stop and think about it, I think you will know, deep down in your heart, that I am right.

Back in January, I posted about this interesting looking film coming up starring Samuel L. Jackson. It’s based on an anime film from 1998 and looks extremely violent and gritty. And yet, despite that, I feel like there might be something here. The very short description from IMDb reads:

When her cop father is killed, a young woman tracks the murder with the apparent help of his ex-partner.

That’s not a lot of information. From my previous posting, it appears that she’s doing so with the help of some drugs that really puts her out of it but makes her a super hero.
