I’m having a hard time not looking forward to this film even though I kind of think it might not be any good. I mean it is being released in February which tells me the studio has no confidence in it. At the same time, it looks like it might be a mildly diverting little thriller. And it’s starring Liam Neeson. Who’s not up for that?

I hope it’s worth seeing because I have vague plans of seeing it.

There’s not really a lot new going on here in this trailer, just a lot of re-shuffling of images we’ve already seen — and maybe a little bit more footage of what appears to be our big bad guy for this installment. But it’s certainly cut together in a way to make us even more suspcious about who’s going to bite the dust in this film. Could it be possible that they’re killing off a very expensive actor’s character. But then, are we really going to fall for that when we thought for sure they were going to do it in Thor: The Dark World with *[SPOILER] (see bottom for name) and that turned out not…

I’m a sucker for this sort of film but I kind of doubt it’s going to be any good. But Lionsgate is feeling pretty good about it, they’re already working on the sequel (Insurgent).

Given the way this film looks, I’d sure be waiting to see if it made any money. Granted there do seem to be some themes that would resonate with today’s teens and young adults, such as non-conformance. And the books by Veronica Roth on which this film is based are very popular so who knows what will happen. And I’m hoping the film might be okay. You never know, stranger things have happened.

Hahahahaha, I’m absolutely loving the marketing campaign for Muppets Most Wanted. That’s the first line for the Game Day Extended spot — said completely dead pan by the deep voiced trailer narrator. It couldn’t be more perfect for a Muppets movie! I love a good marketing campaign and I think this may actually get me into Muppets. I’ve got a couple of the movies in my Netflix queue so I can get caught up.

Chad tells me that he looks forward to reading any of my Spider-Man related articles just so he can see if I’ve found new and creative ways to express my hatred of the new series. I’ll try not to disappoint.

In this latest round of trailers, this new Spider-Man series continues to feel like a parody of a good Spider-Man series. We had a decent Spider-Man series with Tobey Maguire, but this Andrew Garfield Spider-Man just feels completely off. And now for something much less heavy.

Marvel has released trailer 2 for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it’s looking mighty good. This is one of the films I’m looking forward to most this year. And man, what a tease on that flash of scene where we see someone apparently dead under a sheet. Who will it be, Director Fury? Who knows, your guess is as good as mine at this point.

But I can tell you that on April 4th, I’ll be seated in the theater watching me some Captain America. His first movie was my favorite before The Avengers in Phase 1, I’m hoping not to be disappointed this time…

Well, Man of Steel may have turned out to be one of the more terrible films I’ve ever seen in my life, but it had some doggone good trailers.  So I’m not sorry that The Lego Movie has given their latest trailer the Man of Steel trailer treatment. This is completely with Hans Zimmer’s triumphant soundtrack and everything.

I can’t wait to see this movie. It opens on February 7^th.

I’ve gotta say this is pretty good marketing despite the fact that I am not at all looking forward to this film. Not in the slightest. But releasing part one of a two part trailer, the second part which airs during the Superbowl seems like pretty great thinking.

So I hate sports, I hate watching it, and most of all, I hate football. I know how unAmerican that is of me and I don’t care.

But, one thing cool that does happen during the Superbowl is we get a lot of spots and trailers for upcoming films. And a lot of them can be good and creative. I don’t know that this one is very creative, but it seems pretty good. While I’m still figuring on this movie being both bad and sacrilegious, I have a tiny shred of hope for it. So I’ll continue to wait tentatively.
