Rumors are flying that Johnny Depp is considering a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean installment, and the speculation may be overheating. Some international papers including The Sun say the newly single star could make some rather unprecedented cha-ching — to the tune of £60 million (that’s about $95 million at current exchange rates). That would be some crazy treasure even the likes of, well, a pirate, could only dream of… But is the super-star actor worth the stupid money even if the rumors were only say, mostly true?

New Jersey-based iOS app developer Andrew Fernandez just published the V2.0 of his social TV app Renewed, which takes on other apps in this space with an interesting twist. Renewed says it knows which shows are going to get canceled, and which ones will get picked up for another season, simply based on the data it gathers from check-ins.

If there are plot holes in a film, the folks over at How It Should Have Ended will find them and hillarity will ensue. While I liked The Dark Knight Rises, I acknowlege fully that there were a few plot holes and How It Should Have Ended have stepped up to their duty willingly.

How It Should Have Ended highlights a few of the more gaping flaws that would have made for a much shorter film if corrected. There is way more awesome here than anyone should have a right to view in one single day. View at your own risk…

For Brave, the team at Pixar had to deal with a hero or rather heroine, who is on screen for almost every shot, but who needed wild, yet beautiful hair. The simulation department needed to develop a technique and approach not only viable on a hand crafted trailer shot, but something that could be used almost ‘out of box’ on most shots, or the film was simply never going to make its deadline.

The new trailer for Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor’s upcoming tsunami drama The Impossible shows literally the calm before the storm, and then the horrific storm itself.

Classical music plays over flashes of serene waves, scuba diving, kids frolicking on a perfect, bright beach in Thailand and pensive, loving looks between Watts as Maria and her husband Henry, played by McGregor, at dinner.

Then all hell breaks loose.
