Sometimes, Netflix drops in big, giant, rock-sized diamonds for us movie maniacs to gobble up the second they come out. Such is the case when Netflix announced they were dropping The Hunger Games: Catching Fire towards the end of October in anticipation of the next movie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, coming out in November. I’m excited to sit down and watch this with my wife, who was also anticipating this movie.

Over the past few days, the film has begun screening for general audiences, celebrity audiences and press alike. Attendees are usually embargoed from going on social media about early screenings but that very rarely stops people. And if the reactions are positive, studios usually don’t care.

As expected some of those early Interstellar reaction tweets are positive. Very positive.

I mean, duh.

No, I’m not kidding. The latest Honest Trailer makes a solid case for this premise. It’s pretty striking in some ways.

And as always, it’s a lot of fun. So watch the trailer for the film that “has the mutant power to make Brett Ratner disapear.”

And when it comes to DC Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, he’s got mad respect for his rivals.

“I love what Marvel does. I’m a huge fan,” he told Buzzfeed, but he’s quick to mention that DC will be taking a “different approach” when it comes to how their characters will co-exist (or not) between their big screen and small screen iterations.

Yesterday, the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron leaked online. Marvel and Disney made a couple of half-hearted attempts to get people to take it down. Then they gave in.

But during all that, they had perhaps the best response to a leaked trailer that anyone has ever, or will ever have:

TJ is back from the dead! Well, it seemed like he was dead anyway. Really he was just very, very sick. But he’s back and together with Joe sets for the review two film to try to catch up for lost time. ‘The Equalizer’ is R rated for a reason — it’s bloody and violent, but it’s not a bad story and probably worthy of your investigation. ‘The Judge’ on the other hand was pretty fantastic. Overall Joe’s not as happy with it as TJ, but they both feel it’s probably worth your time. And there’s lots of messages in the film to tease out, so TJ and Joe do so.

The death of your mother changes you in ways you don’t understand. Those who have not been through it have no way of fathoming the affect it has on your life. I freely admit that, though I had seen and spoken to my mother just hours before she passed, while Hank Palmer in The Judge had not seen her in years, this aspect of the story may have some amount of resonance with me that it did not with you. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is “beginning negotiations” with Bale, and a source confirmed to EW that the actor is indeed in talks for the role in the Aaron Sorkin-scripted biopic.
