Game of Thrones - Lindsey Stirling and Peter Hollens

Game of Thrones - Lindsey Stirling and Peter Hollens

I must confess that I have not seen any Game of Thrones but I keep hearing good things so I want to see it.

HBO has been pretty stupid about how it makes Game of Thrones available. The first season is on iTunes now so that’s probably my door in. I hope to dig into it soon.

But, even though I know nothing about Game of Thrones, I just had to post this video because it was too cool to pass up. I mean, Lindsey Stirling. Need I say more? If one of you all watches or is familiar with Game of Thrones, feel free to add some intelligent commentary in the comments.

Exclusive ‘Fringe’ Image from Season 5
TV Line

We open this week’s column with a bit of visual splendor: a first look at Season 5, which premieres Sept. 28. In this exclusive image from the final season’s first episode, titled “Transilience Thought Unifier Model 11,” you’ve got circa-2036 Peter, Astrid and Etta checking out a block of amber from which, it appears, at least a few people have been sawed out. Could it be that Olivia, too, was ambered for twentysome years? “You’ll have to wait and see,” showrunner Joel Wyman hedged during our fall preview Q&A. “If she got ambered, if she’s the same age, if she’s not…. You’ll have to wait…

New ‘Cloud Atlas’ Trailer
Entertainment Weekly

Fascinated and confused by that six-minute trailer for Cloud Atlas that hit the internet in late July? Well, there’s a new theatrical trailer for the Wachowski/Wachowski/Tykwer head-trip odyssey that strives to package the movie’s narrative flourishes — multiple timelines, lofty themes, Tom Hanks completely breaking the bank on his wig budget — into a relatively more manageable two and a half minutes. Plenty of new footage awaits you, so watch the trailer below!

The trailer on Entertainment Weekly was pulled from YouTube due to copyright infringement claim (what else is new?).…

‘The Hunger Games’ Pitch Trailer

‘The Hunger Games’ Pitch Trailer
Slash Film

Every day in Hollywood, filmmakers meet in rooms at production companies and movie studios, giving their take on potential upcoming projects. This process hasn’t changed much over the years, except for the advent of carefully crated trailers for nonexistent movies, meant to help executives visualize the final product. Fans often post their own mash-up trailers, but we rarely get to see these pitches from noted filmmakers. It’s even more rare to find them for major Hollywood blockbusters.

When I first saw Kevin’s Hunger Games pitch trailer, I was blown away by how much different…

Morgan Freeman is Alive and Well

Morgan Freeman is Alive and Well

Last night I saw a couple people around the internet talking about the death of Morgan Freeman. Then I saw one of my Facebook friends liked a paged called R.I.P Morgan Freeman.

My first thought was, “my goodness how did I not know about this and why is it not on MovieByte?” So I started looking for the story. Turns out this is a complete hoax. Mr. Freeman has been the victim of a fake death scandal as he is actually alive and well.

The Examiner reports:

Morgan Freeman is a staple in pop culture so it only makes sense that word of his death would spread quickly. That is exactly what…

A Christmas Story 2

A Christmas Story 2
Screen Junkies

With relatively little fanfare, A Christmas Story has spawned a sequel, with Ralphie this time eying a car instead or an air rifle, which has the elements of a disturbing trend of materialism by the little imp.

No, no no no no no no no no. Please tell me this is a joke, a bad dream, not happening.

This looks like a truly horrible film.
