Watch: Featurette from ‘Les Misérables’

Watch: Featurette from ‘Les Misérables’

Take a quick little trip behind the scenes of Les Mis with Director Tom Hooper.

While not long, this featurette is interesting and worth taking a moment to watch. It’s about two minutes, and it shows the film crew working their way through the foothills of the Alps, managing their gear, the camera, and all that while it’s freezing cold. But man did they get some nice looking shots!

Jeremy Irons Takes Swipe at ‘Downton Abbey’

The Playlist

It’s quiet out there as everyone in Hollywood is en route to the Sundance Film Festival, so here’s something that should perk up your eyeballs a little bit. The always awesome Jeremy Irons has weighed in on “Downton Abbey,” and if you think the show is the height of writing and drama, Irons has some news for you.

Chatting at the Television Critics Assosciation panel for PBS’s “Shakespeare Uncovered,” Irons used the opportunity to take a swipe at the network’s hit show. “What I’m really excited about with ‘Shakespeare Uncovered’ is we’ll see some of the best British actors playing…

Russell Crowe Talks ‘Broken City’ and ‘Man of Steel’

Russell Crowe Talks ‘Broken City’ and ‘Man of Steel’

I care more about this for the Man of Steel info than Broken City, but at the same time, I’ll be seeing Broken City so it’s interesting too.

But there’s a lot we just don’t know about Man of Steel yet. That’s to be expected with Christopher Nolan involved I suppose. I mean even the trailers so far have not given us a lot of actual substance. And we certainly don’t know a lot about Krypton and Russell Crowe’s Jor-El in this film yet. This will mark the first time on the big screen an actor besides Marlon Brando has played Superman’s papa. Even in Superman Returns, they pulled out some…

‘Die Hard’ Theater Run

‘Die Hard’ Theater Run
/Film

When we first met John McClane in 1988, he was just an everyman cop trying to help his wife and her colleagues out of an office building. But oh, how things have changed. Each installment of the Die Hard franchise has gone bigger than the last, and number five, A Good Day to Die Hard, is no exception. McClane travels to Russia not only to save his son, but, apparently, to defend democracy itself.

In real life, we saw that progression unfold over two and a half decades. But next month, you can relive it in just a matter of hours. Fox has announced that it will bring all four previous…

Just Spotted: ‘Fringe - Enemy of Fate’ Trailer

I just saw this via Fringe’s Facebook page. It looks like it was just posted to YouTube today. So despite having shared a Fringe trailer earlier, I must share another one with you now.

It looks to be epic, but I suppose we would expect nothing less from Fringe‘s last hurrah.

I hate you Jar Jar

I hate you Jar Jar
Twitter - Molly Lewis

“I hate you.” “I know.”

A little more fun this morning if I may. This was just too much fun to not share. Who hasn’t dreamed of encasing Jar Jar in carbonite?

I have no idea who this person on Twitter is or where the picture originates from, but I stumbled across it and it’s too much fun — you know, as a card carrying Jar Jar hater (Meesa think Jar Jar Stupid!).

Gandalf Problem Solving

This is just too much fun!

Have you ever wondered how Gandalf solves problems? Well wonder no more! We have a flowchart here that will explain everything. All you have to do is figure out where to start, answer the questions, and you will be led to the right conclusion for a Gandalf style answer to the problem.

This Isn’t the Response You’re Looking For

This Isn’t the Response You’re Looking For

The Administration shares your desire for job creation and a strong national defense, but a Death Star isn’t on the horizon.

I may not like the current administration one little bit. Not at all. But someone over there should win an award for this.

You see, some idiots thought it would be fun to start a petition to get our government to construct a Death Star. Only it garnered enough signatures to warrant a response. This is that response. It was crafted by a nerd, or with the help of one. If you read it there can be no doubt.

This is pure, unadulterated fun. Consider:
