Justin Bieber to be in ‘Man of Steel’? PLEASE NO!
Russ Fischer - /Film

If you hated the news of Ben Affleck being cast in Zack Snyder‘s sequel to Man of Steel, you’ll probably blow a gasket for real with this item. Justin Bieber added a new photo to his Instagram feed tonight, in which he shows off his own copy of the Batman vs. Superman script — or a fairly well-made fake that looks like it bears his name. Making things weirder, his only caption was “#robin ??”

If Justin Bieber is in this film in any way, I believe I will have to boycott. UGH. Please let this not be true!

Disney to Ruin ‘The Little Mermaid’ With “Second Screen” Experience

But Disney is on board with the idea of the second screen nonsense, and is promoting a presentation of The Little Mermaid. Viewers can download an app for use on phones and tablets, through which they can “interact” with the movie and “become part of the experience.” Watch a trailer for this second screen indoctrination tool for young children, below.

Civilization is over. The world is ending.

Second screen experience… I ask you…

Because summer of 2015 was not already crowded enough…

Now the iconic British character is being reimagined yet again, this time by an iconic British actor. Ian McKellen will play a retired Sherlock Holmes for Bill Condon‘s A Slight Trick of the Mind, based on the novel by Mitch Cullin.

According to the official announcement from Icon/AI Films, Slight Trick of the Mind will shoot next April in the U.K. Jeffrey Hatcher (Stage Beauty) is writing the screenplay.

Well… huh. Apparently there is a series of books out there about an elderly Sherlock Holmes. Who knew, right?

Roland Emmerich to Stargate Fans: “Drop Dead”

Roland Emmerich to Stargate Fans: “Drop Dead”
Darren - Gateworld.net

Yeah, okay, my headline is a bit harsh, but that’s the way I heard it.

Roland Emmerich, who directed and co-wrote the original 1994 film, is optimistic that the pitch for a rebooted Stargate movie trilogy will go forward. But in a new interview with Digital Spy, he did not say that the studio has officially given the project a green light — contrary to what online news outlets are suggesting today.

We know that Emmerich and co-writer Dean Devlin haven’t given up on their hopes of a big-budget movie trilogy — which was their original plan before MGM acquired the rights to Stargate and…

Ben Affleck to Play Batman in ‘Man of Steel’ Sequel
Lucy O’Brien - IGN.com

Ben Affleck is set to star as Batman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel, Warner Bros. has announced.

As reported by The Wrap, Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production at Warner Bros. made the following statement earlier today:

“We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some. His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.”

“Ben provides an interesting…

‘Squirrels’ Trailer Features… Killer Squirrels?!?

‘Squirrels’ Trailer Features… Killer Squirrels?!?

What the…? Wait, I don’t even… Wait, what?!?

Words are failing me, and any of you who know me, that’s quite a feat. This film apparently features a town under attack from flesh-eating squirrels after a natural gas company buys up a town and destroys their food chain through environmental destruction. Yeah, it really does look bad. See for yourself.

‘Trek’ Fans Hate ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’?

‘Trek’ Fans Hate ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’?
Graeme McMillan - The Hollywood Reporter

According to Faraci, “Star Trek Into Darkness was met with boos when it was mentioned, and one guy took the mic to say these reboots shouldn’t even be considered for a list of Star Trek movies.” Into Darkness was met with hardcore fan apathy when released in May—although both fans and mainstream audiences seemed to enjoy it —but that it’s unpopular to the point of booing (or being named the least popular movie in the series, for that matter) may be something that Paramount and executive producers/writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman might want to take into account before planning the third…

‘Her’ Trailer Staring Joaquin Phoenix, and Scarlett Johanson’s Voice

Okay, so, raise your hand if you think this looks really weird…

*raises hand*

Surely I can’t be the only one. I guess you could say the film is set in the future and is about a man that falls in love with his artificial intelligence OS. But I can’t even begin to describe it so you should just watch it. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Chris Pratt, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde and (the voice of) Scarlett Johansson.

Paul Ruebens Says Director Chosen for ‘Pee-Wee Herman’ Movie

Paul Ruebens Says Director Chosen for ‘Pee-Wee Herman’ Movie
Russ Fischer - /Film

We’ve heard Paul Ruebens talk about a new Pee-Wee Herman movie for years. There’s long been a script that he’s been writing and rewriting (with Paul Rust) under the watchful eye of producer Judd Apatow. But it’s been quite a while since we’ve heard anything real — years, in fact. With Ruebens doing press for The Smurfs 2, however, the actor is saying that Pee-Wee should be back in force in 2014.

Speaking to the LA Times, Reubens confided that a director has been chosen for the new Pee-Wee movie and that the script and financing are in place.
Remember me talking in an earlier post today…
