TV Line’s 5 Things To Know About ‘House of Cards Season 2’

TV Line’s 5 Things To Know About ‘House of Cards Season 2’
Rebecca Iannucci

Netflix dealt another hand of Cards on Feb. 14, unveiling all 13 new episodes of the acclaimed original series at once. Some things about the drama haven’t changed: Frank Underwood is as ruthless as ever, his wife Claire is still devastatingly stylish and the politics are still really, really dirty. But there are some new elements in the series’ sophomore season. If you haven’t yet pressed PLAY on Season 2, here are five (semi-spoilery) tidbits to know while you watch.

Good stuff to know here.

I am officially an old man now apparently, because there was just no way I could miss too much…

Netflix Renews ‘House of Cards’ For a Third Season

Netflix Renews ‘House of Cards’ For a Third Season
Yvonne Villarreal — Los Angeles Times

“House of Cards” still has a winning hand as Netflix has voted in favor of a third-season renewal for the political drama.

The early renewal for a third installment, confirmed by a Netflix spokesperson, comes ahead of the Valentine’s Day rollout of its second season on the streaming service.

“House of Cards” was originally given a two-season commitment, so the news makes good on Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos’ indication last fall that he wanted to extend the show’s life past that.

Good news for the future of the on-demand TV experience. This is the future people and I’m…

‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Superbowl Ad and Long-form Trailer

‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Superbowl Ad and Long-form Trailer

Chad tells me that he looks forward to reading any of my Spider-Man related articles just so he can see if I’ve found new and creative ways to express my hatred of the new series. I’ll try not to disappoint.

In this latest round of trailers, this new Spider-Man series continues to feel like a parody of a good Spider-Man series. We had a decent Spider-Man series with Tobey Maguire, but this Andrew Garfield Spider-Man just feels completely off. Some have lauded it as being closer to the feel of the comics, but I think we have proven over the years that a straight adaptation from comic book to…

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ — Superbowl Trailer Part 1

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ — Superbowl Trailer Part 1

I’ve gotta say this is pretty good marketing despite the fact that I am not at all looking forward to this film. Not in the slightest. But releasing part one of a two part trailer, the second part which airs during the Superbowl seems like pretty great thinking.

Unfortunately nothing in this trailer makes me change my mind at all. Check it out:

‘Agents of SHIELD’ Episode 13 Promo

I will continue to maintain that if you don’t like this show we probably can’t be friends. I really don’t get what everybody doesn’t like about this show. It’s really fantastic and it’s just getting better and better. This week’s episode was great where Colson gets to deal with what’s been going on in his past and dig up what’s going on with Skye’s past.

And keep your eyes open for a special Marvel guest start in this trailer!

‘Veronica Mars’ Getting a Web Series

‘Veronica Mars’ Getting a Web Series
Cain Rodriguez

USA Today reports (via Indiewire) that CW—aka the network that cancelled the show—has worked out a deal with Thomas to bring the Neptune universe to the web in the form of a spinoff web series for the network’s CW Seed site. Right now details are sketchy, it could be anywhere between six to eight episodes lasting between five and ten minutes apiece.

Who would this series follow? Well, apparently Thomas was cagey with the network in the meetings leading up to the decision with CW head honcho Mark Pedowitz saying of the show creator, “He talked a little bit but it wasn’t locked in; he talked…
