‘Ender’s Game’ TV Spot — Glimpse More of Formic Invasion

‘Ender’s Game’ TV Spot — Glimpse More of Formic Invasion

This TV spot gives us a bit more look at the Formic invasion as well as glimpses at several other scenes we have not yet seen. And this music for this trailer definitely has a bit of dystopian sci-fi feel to it.

This is looking pretty good and I’m really looking forward to seeing it. It comes out in theaters on November 1st.

‘Big A** Spider!’ Trailer

‘Big A** Spider!’ Trailer

Fizz has been on my case lately for offering my opinion and being hyperbolic about it (I can’t see why anyone would see this, it’s garbage, it’s trash etc.). Well, sorry, right now I’m the only writer here and MovieByte, and I have opinions. And not only that, but I like to be hyperbolic. It’s just my style. And I have a bit of hyperbole coming regarding this film. Ready? Here it is.

This film looks like it will be perhaps the worst film of all time. See? Hyperbolic, because it most certainly will not be the worst film of all time. But it does look bad. Seriously I’m just shaking my head.…

Everything you ever wanted to know about Ultron…

Everything you ever wanted to know about Ultron…

…but were too afraid to ask.

That’s right, in this video from IGN, we get the speed version of Ultron’s history, which is helpful for people like me who are fans of the movies but not of the comic books.

Obviously, the Ultron we’re going to see in the upcoming Avengers film will not be the Ultron of the comic books, but know a little bit about the history of the character seems like a good thing. Plus, I live the editing and sassy cuts in this video. Check it out:

‘Atlas Shrugged Part 3’ Kickstarter

‘Atlas Shrugged Part 3’ Kickstarter
Paul Bond - The Hollywood Reporter

For the first time, the filmmakers behind the Atlas Shrugged movie trilogy will raise production and marketing money through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.

The campaign is scheduled to kick off Monday and is designed to raise $250,000 of the film’s $10 million budget.

Filmmakers also said Monday that the movie has been officially titled, Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt?

Yeah… see, I’m not so interested in this film because I like films that are well made. While the second installment was, in my opinion, somewhat better than the first, it still was not great filmmaking. Those…

Peter Mayhew Intends to Play Chewbacca Again

Peter Mayhew Intends to Play Chewbacca Again
Brendon Connelly - BleedingCool

As Lucasfilm and the filmmakers behind Episode VII launch their casting efforts for what looks very much like a new actor to play Chewbacca, an amazing amount of support has rushed forth for Peter Mayhew, the actor who originated the role in George Lucas‘ 1977 original.

As we told you earlier in the month, Mayhew isn’t in the best of health right now. Complications arising from his gigantism lead to him being unable to stand up straight or walk unassisted.

But he’s undergone surgery on his knees and legs, and when the whole healing process has been completed, the doctors say that he should…

‘Escape Plan’ Clip

‘Escape Plan’ Clip

I can’t say I’m a big fan of Sylvester Stalone, nor Arnold Schwarzenegger. But for whatever reason, this film actually looks like it may have something. I don’t know, call it intuition, or stupidity, I don’t know which. But it feels from what I can tell like there might be a half-way decent plot here that could make this film worth it. I think one of my problems with typical films from either of these guys is that the plots never seem worthy of… well, anything.

In any event, check out this clip, which, granted, doesn’t really prove my point — my feelings on this film come from the other…

Saoirse Ronan in ‘Star Wars VII’?

Saoirse Ronan in ‘Star Wars VII’?
Angie Han - /Film

According to a new report, Saoirse Ronan has read for a role in Episode VII. “Has read for” is a long way off from “finalized a deal for,” but personally, I’d love to see this one pan out.

Word of Ronan’s potential casting comes from Latino Review, who have reported several Episode VII casting rumors already. None of them have been confirmed as fact at this point, but none have been definitively proven false, either. Disney’s just not ready to give away anything yet.

She’s a good actress and so I would welcome her casting in the upcoming Star Wars film. What part do you guys think she…

No Pixar Films in 2014

No Pixar Films in 2014
Germain Lussier - /Film

There will be no new Pixar movie in 2014. The highly decorated computer animation company, which is owned by Disney, has pushed the release of The Good Dinosaur from June 2014 to November 25, 2015. But wait, wasn’t Finding Dory scheduled for that date? It was, but now the underwater sequel will open June 17, 2016.

Disney also moved the Angelina Jolie film Maleficent up from July 2, 2014 to May 30, 2014, the space vacated by The Good Dinosaur.

Hmm. Should we worry about the beloved animation studio? Probably not. Actually, I’d rather see them take the time they need to make a good film…

Joss Whedon Did Rewrites for ‘Thor: The Dark World’

Joss Whedon Did Rewrites for ‘Thor: The Dark World’
Kevin Jagernauth

Faced with some story issues on the super sequel, there was only man who could save the day: Marvel guru and fanboy fave, Joss Whedon. “Joss came in to save our lives a couple of times,” Taylor told SFX (via Comic Book Movie). “We had a major scene that was not working on the page at all in London, and he basically got airlifted in, like a SWAT team or something. He came down, rewrote the scene, and before he got back to his plane I sort of grabbed him and said, ‘And this scene and this scene?’ And he rewrote two other scenes that I thought had problems. Then finally we let go of him, he…

WB Advised Affleck to Stay Off the Internet For a Couple Days

WB Advised Affleck to Stay Off the Internet For a Couple Days

I have to admit, a little bit of humor can go a long way to diffuse a situation, and he handles the situation with grace and humor here.

Warner Bros. apparently advised Affleck to stay away from the net for a few days after the casting announcement in order that he might avoid the disparaging fan comments he would receive. Says he, “Well, I’m tough, I can handle it.” After reading one comment he temporarily reverted to the stone age of the pre-internet era. Fun stuff.
