The Honest Trailer for ‘The X-Men Trilogy’

The Honest Trailer for ‘The X-Men Trilogy’

But don’t worry, they’re sending Wolverine back in time to make sure Brett Ratner never happened.

Love it! I think they got pretty much everything in this trailer right… even as much as I love the first two X-Men films, I love a good Honest Trailer, and this is a good one.

‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ Trailer Featuring Colin Firth

‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ Trailer Featuring Colin Firth

So it seems Colin Firth is branching out a little in his latest film because now he’s a secret service agent who’s all about the action. That is just not the sort of thing I associate Firth with… but then, when I think of Colin Firth, I think of Pride and Prejudice. Now, I do like that version of Pride and Prejudice to be sure, but this new role for Colin Firth just seems a little strange is all.

And yet, I really liked this trailer. It looks like just the right combination of wit and humor formy taste. Time will tell, but I’d like to see this.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Trailer 2

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Trailer 2

Marvel has so few misses these days, that you have to wonder when the next one is coming… but I sure don’t think this is going to be the one. How do you come off the heels of a very serious and kind of emotionally heavy film like Captain America? Well, it looks like Marvel’s answer is Guardians of the Galaxy in which we get to see Chris Pratt play Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel use his baritone to declare that he is Groot, a African/American woman play a green alien, and a CGI raccoon… make some adjustments to his costume… (I have truly seen it all now).

Seriously though, this looks like a…

‘Interstellar’ Trailer: Christopher Nolan Looks To Save The World for Food Shortage

‘Interstellar’ Trailer: Christopher Nolan Looks To Save The World for Food Shortage

Finally, a pretty good look at what we’re in for with Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Interstellar starring Mathew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Casey Affleck, and Michael Caine. It looks like a very emotional story about a father who does what he can to make a better future for his children. Regardless of the impetus behind the space exploration plot feeling slightly forced, it’s Nolan and I think it’s going to be really good. And there’s hardly a better story to be found than a father’s love for his daughter motivating his actions.

As you would expect from Nolan, it’s…

This is a Movie About A Glass Slipper

This is a Movie About A Glass Slipper

Disney has chosen to tease its upcoming live action film Cinerella with a single shot of the iconic glass slipper and some very Disney-ish sounding music.

I’ve said it before but, I’m just not sure why I needed a live action Cinderella and this does absolutely nothing for me. But I suppose I am not the target demographic.

Now, the film does have a somewhat interesting cast. Hayley Atwell as Cinderella’s Mother, Helena Bonham Carter as Fairy Godmother (wait, what?), Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremain, Richard Madden as Prince Charming (don’t know this actor but felt weird to leave him out),…

‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ Trailer 2

‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ Trailer 2

Well, this looks about like the complete and utter dreck you would expect from a Michael Bay Tranformers movie. But, it does have Stanley Tucci in it. Maybe that can raise the bar to make it a little bit watchab… hahahahahahaha. Nope. Couldn’t do it with a straight face.

But whatever, if you guys are into dumb stupid action films that have no plot and/or substance, then you’ll love this trailer.

‘Lucy’ International Trailer

‘Lucy’ International Trailer

I continue to be intrigued by this film. I hear it’s a bit of a myth that we only use 10% of our brains, but I like the idea anyway. And that idea is present here — that if we could tap into the rest of our brains that we might be able to do a lot more cool things. In the real world, I don’t see any of this happening. But it makes for a fun fantasy film.

Here’s the synopsis, followed by the new trailer.

Set in a futuristic world that is run by the mob, street gangs, drug addicts and corrupted cops, Lucy (Scarlett Johansson), a woman living in Taipei, Taiwan, 2069 AD, works as a drug mule…

Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis in First Clip from ‘Jupiter Ascending’

Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis in First Clip from ‘Jupiter Ascending’

Now that I have tried to excise the memory of that horrible film the Wachowskis made preiously: Cloud Atlas, I think I’m ready to give them one more chance to make a great follow up to the greatness of The Matrix. They’re on probation as far as I’m concerned, but I know they can make a good film if they want to. Their score-board isn’t great though because they also made the next new Matrix films. But they were not terrible like Cloud Atlas was.

Still, this film looks exactly like what I had hoped Cloud Atlas was. A thrilling new sci-fi concept with originality and a fun but well put…

Godzilla Attacks in New Clip

Godzilla Attacks in New Clip

The opinions coming from the pre-screenings are a bit mixed but I continue to hold out hope that this will be a decent film. It will be a monster movie for sure, but I hope there’s a good story to dive into. This clip isn’t really about the story though. It’s about a big giant monster rising up out of the ocean for an attack.

The film opens this Friday, May 16.

‘Edge of Tomorrow’ Extended Trailer

‘Edge of Tomorrow’ Extended Trailer

Oh man, this looks GOOD! I love good sci-fi, and Tom Cruise usually delivers on the sci-fi action/thriller front. Couple that with what looks to me like a smart story. Any time a story feels like it’s almost hard to explain in the trailer, there’s a good possibility that it’s a good one. It’s always possible of course that it’s an overcrowded story mess, but I don’t think that’s the case here. It does add up to me, and I’m fully on-board with this premise. So June 6 can’t get here soon enough.
