‘Defiance’ Trailer: Civilization

‘Defiance’ Trailer: Civilization

I reckon I’ll be checking this show out when it airs (assuming I can find a way to watch it, SyFy can be stupid about how they make shows available). I am not yet certain if it will be good, but it does look like it has the potential to be interesting.

In the year 2046, it’s a new Earth – with new rules. Over thirty years after various alien races arrived on Earth, the landscape is completely altered, terraformed nearly beyond recognition. To the town of Defiance, on what used to be St. Louis, comes the mysterious Nolan (Grant Bowler) and his charge, Irisa (Stephanie Leonidas). As they…

‘Monsters University’ Promos

‘Monsters University’ Promos

If you’re looking for a good monster college, Monsters University looks like the place to go. They’ve put out some great promo clips about how their university will help you become a great scarer. There’s probably no better place to send your little monsters!

Seriously though, I’m looking forward to this film’s release on June 21! Enjoy the clips.

Two TV Spots from ‘Oblivion’

Two TV Spots from ‘Oblivion’

If you are excited to see what happen’s with Tom Cruise’s character, Jack Harper, in the upcoming film Oblivion, well you should buckle up because we have a little less than a month now until it’s debut on April 19.

These two new spots pull back the curtain just a little bit more. Not a lot more, but there are some images, and a little bit of voiceover from Morgan Freeman that we haven’t heard before.

Earth may be a memory, but it is apparently worth fighting for (to modify the tagline).

Jack is one of the last men left on Earth, who repairs the drones that collect vital resources on…

Watch: ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ Opening Sequence

Watch: ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ Opening Sequence

You may think me crazy, or may think I’m jesting, but one of the most fun parts of Oz the Great and Powerful was the opening title sequence. It was very nice stylistically and was a great way to open up the film.

Now the opening title sequence has been released on YouTube for your viewing pleasure straight from Disney. I suppose this is a way to generate even more interest in the film, but it’s fun for me and you for sure.

Give it a look.

Another ‘Oblivion’ Featurette

Another ‘Oblivion’ Featurette

Awesome stuff here. I can’t wait for this one. And I love that they are doing more things as practical effects than some might do. When possible to do, practical effects, physical set pieces etc. are still better.

The film makes it’s debut on April 19 and stars Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborogh, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Melissa Leo, and is directed by Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski.

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ International Trailer

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ International Trailer

This trailer will apparently be shown with international screenings of G.I. Joe: Retaliation but we’ve also got it right here for you. This is the U.K. version of the trailer. I watched a couple of the other version of the trailer and they all appear to be identical except for the end date so far as I can tell.

This trailer is really opening up and showing us a lot more than previously, and yet I still feel like we’ve barely scratched the surface. I have high hopes for this film. Sure it will have JJ Abrams typical whiz bang, and annoying propensity for lens flares, but I do expect it to…

‘Everything Wrong with The Dark Knight’

‘Everything Wrong with The Dark Knight’

I saw this going around last night and I was looking forward to it. I usually like these, even if I did like the film they were criticizing, because they are fun and hilarious. This one however, seems to be a dud. It’s just not any good at all. I didn’t laugh once. I did crack a smile once or twice early on, but no laughing at all for me.

It’s possible, but I don’t think my funny bone is broken this morning, I think this one is just a complete dud.

See for yourself (for our more sensitive watchers, there are several bleeped bad words).

‘Turbo’ Trailer #2

‘Turbo’ Trailer #2

Ummm, wow. Okay, this is not quite the movie I thought it was going to be. Something tells me this is going to be a little ridiculous actually. I’m still trying to put my finger on it, what makes a Pixar film with a ridiculous concept more appealing than this crazy thing? I don’t know but the whole “nuclear snail” thing or whatever it is that is going on here is not quite appealing to my inner movie geek… at all. I hope I’m wrong.

It doesn’t help that pretty much the only decent thing Dreamworks animation has ever turned out is Shrek and Shrek 2 (followed distantly by Shrek Forever…

More ‘Monsters University’ Viral Marketing

More ‘Monsters University’ Viral Marketing

I’m not really into sports, but apparently it’s a thing, especially college sports. And from the looks of it, the Monsters U team was a little disappointed with their placement. A “local monster college student” seems to have captured the reaction and it made it to “Pixar News”.

Monsters University will feature the voice talents of John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Steve Buscemi, Ben Kingsley, Helen Mirren, David Spade, Alfred Molina and Ricky Gervais. The film opens on June 21st.

‘Iron Man 3’ TV Spot

‘Iron Man 3’ TV Spot

Alright, Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 2! I’m ready. I’ve been gearing up by watching the Marvel film (I’ve watched Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 [ugh] is next on my list), and May can’t get here soon enough. Here’s a little bit more to whet the appetite for you.

Iron Man 3 will obviously star Robert Downey Jr. and will also star Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin. Also returning are Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Hogan, and Don Cheadle as Rhodey.
