Sorry guys. Just a quick note to let you know what was going on. I was not feeling great last night when Chad and I were planning to record, and I have a big deadline at work so I needed to get rested up. Lion’s Gate has just put out a timeline of humanity’s future history leading up to the events of Ender’s Game. It’s a very handy reference if you haven’t read the book. Gerard Butler! That’s right, the man who led “Olympus Has Fallen” this spring to a rather surprising $161 million worldwide (not bad for something on a $70 million budget, and a better ROI than the $204 million haul versus $150 million budget of “White House Down”) is back for “London Has Fallen.” LOL, OMG. Even better (worse?), Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett and Radha Mitchell will return too, with everyone reprising their respective roles. So what, pray tell, is the plot? I must make a confession: I have only seen one Martin Scorsese film — I absolutely loved it. That would be the Robert De Niro and Ray Liotta staring Goodfellas. Having loved that film so much, it seems a crime to me that I have not been exposed to more of his film. I therefore fully intend to see this film even though the trailers have not gotten me super pumped just yet. I’m actually not sure what I would have thought about a Goodfellas trailer before I had seen the film but I’m guessing about the same way I feel about The Wolf of Wall Street at this point: meh. Are you a Back to the Future fan? (Chad is going to love this). Well have I got just the thing for you! Back to the Future street improv. Yeah, it’s cheesy and poorly acted, but who cares, right? It’s just good plain fun.

I sure do love Honest Trailers. They’re always varying degrees of good, hardly ever bad. While this one falls somwhere in the middle one the good scale, it’s still pretty good. And yeah, I knew I couldn’t be the only person in the whole road having flashes of the dreaded Rainbow Road from Mario Kart whenver they showed the Rainbow Bridge in Thor.

Thor was easily my least favorite of the pre-Avengers Marvel films which makes this trailer work even better.

Oh man, oh man, oh man! This is going to be soooooo good. I can already see I’m glad to have Bryan Singer back at the helm. This trailer has the tone that made his first two X-Men films so good. Of course as expected from the title, this film is about the mingling and crossing over of the past and the future. And probably about setting some things right that Brett Ratner screwed up.

But this… this is going to be epic you guys! I can’t wait. May 23^rd, 2014 can’t come soon enough!

EW has confirmed that Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit has dropped off the Christmas release schedule and will now open Jan. 17, 2014.

The Paramount Pictures’ action movie is based on characters from late author Tom Clancy and stars Chris Pine (Star Trek) as a young CIA analysis who uncovers a Russian plot to crash the U.S. economy with a terrorist attack.
