TJ and Joe discuss the track released from the soundtrack for the upcoming film ‘Oblivion’, and how it sounds like it has been influenced by ‘Tron: Legacy’ and how that is a good thing, Joe’s article ‘Star Studded Ratings by the Numbers’ and how MovieByte rates films, the U.K. getting ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ a week before we do here in the states, Joss Whedon and Clark Gregg on Agent Coulson in the upcoming TV Series ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’, and why the ‘Oz’ sequel will not feature Dorothy. And that leads TJ and Joe into their main topic today in discussing ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’. A fine film, worth seeing, with a few disappointments. But certainly, when compared with some of the utter rubbish in theaters at this time of the year, it’s the obvious choice when heading to the cinema. TJ takes a look at a few things that happened this past week. First there’s Bryan Singer promising to fix some of the flaws with ‘X-men: The Last Stand’. Then there’s the the confirmation of a ‘Jack Reacher’ sequel from Paramount and that seems like good news. And of course there’s the 85th Academy Awards and TJ talks about a few of The Oscars given out, and really the only choice he was annoyed with. There’s also some hints from the director about what might be coming in ‘Wreck-it Ralph 2’. Plus TJ is geeking a bit about a lost documentary on ‘The Empire Strikes Back’. And how can we miss Audrey Hepburn’s digital double staring in a commercial? And to get you all set for the weekend, TJ reviews what’s new and currently in theaters.

Join TJ and Joe to talk about ‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ being pricer to produce than ‘TRON’ and why that’s probably a bad thing, why ‘Argo’ won “Best Picture” at The Oscars even though ‘Affleck’ didn’t take “Best Director”, the new ISP “six strikes” policy to “combat” piracy and why it won’t work and why it is the wrong move, and the idea of remaking the ‘Star Wars’ prequels to make them, you know, actually good films. TJ is kind of in favor, and Joe isn’t really. And the meat and potatoes for this episode is ‘TRON: Legacy’, and by extension, some talk about the entirely lackluster original ‘TRON’. It’s interesting how TJ and Joe both feel ‘TRON: Legacy’ is a great film, while the original leaves so much to be desired. Tune in for a great conversation!
