You Have No Soul

Join TJ and Joseph for some awesome movie discussion! This week they kick off with some follow up on the ‘Star Wars’ discussion with Mathew Vaugn rumored to be in the running to direct Episode VII, plus Joseph really liked the idea of Machete Order. Then they briefly talk about ‘The Amazing Spider-man’ coming on on DVD and Blu-ray. As they have discussed in a past episode, Joseph quite liked the film and TJ didn’t see it in protest. TJ also wrote a short article regarding 3D which TJ and Joseph discuss. Then they get to the meat and potatoes and talk about ‘Wreck-it Ralph’. Wreck-it Ralph is estimated by your hosts to be a really, really great ‘Pixar’ film even though it’s technically not a Pixar film, it’s a Disney film. With John Lasseter executive producing though, who would have expected anything different? They also discuss the idea that Disney and Pixar swapped studio names for ‘Brave’ and ‘Wreck-it Ralph’. They have a lot of fun with this one. And then the discus briefly the also released this past weekend ‘Flight’. Flight was an okay film and worth watching. Be sure to tune in for a great conversation.

Meesa Think Jar Jar Stupid

Oh boy is there a lot to talk about this week! TJ and Joseph get ready to catch two films this weekend, ‘Wreck-it Ralph’ and ‘Flight’, they discuss a lot of things, such as the return of Bryan Singer to the ‘X-Men’ Franchise to direct ‘Days of Future Past’, there will be another ‘Mission Impossible’, ‘Argo’ came in number one in the box office last weekend despite going toe to toe with ‘Cloud Atlas’, the launch of ‘The Wrap’ a new weekly show under ten minutes at the end of each week giving an overview of the highlights of the week, and the TV giveaway contest. They then turn their attention to the two main topic items this week, ‘Cloud Atlas’ — TJ hated it with a fiery burning passion, Joseph didn’t like it, but didn’t feel as strongly about it as TJ, and then the big news of the week (year?), the sale of Lucas Film, including all IP having to do with ‘Star Wars’ to Disney. And there’s going to be another ‘Star Wars’ trilogy. This may not be a good thing. They discuss their feelings about George Lucas no longer being directly involved with ‘Star Wars’, their feelings about the original trilogy and the prequels, what they would like to see in a new ‘Star Wars’ film, who should direct and much, much more!

I’m Shrugging As Well

TJ welcomes Joseph back from being away for an episode on jury duty. They discuss the situation with Wally Pfister making jabs at ‘The Avengers’ Cinematography and story telling style — TJ is fired up for sure, then they talk about the video circulating of Stephen Spielberg and John Williams composing the score for E.T. which of course leads to a discussion about the era of filmmaking back in those days and why film is still a superior format, and they also discuss ‘Skyfall’ and some thoughts on the ‘Bond’ franchise as a whole. But the main topic today is ‘Atlas Shrugged Part II’ which naturally means a discussion of part I as well. They discuss the political philosophies present in this film, likes, dislikes, budgetary constraints, the fact that mainstream Hollywood does not like this movie for it’s politics, the poor story telling at times, the acting, the changing of actors for the second film, and much, much more.
