SUPERBATMAN! — Zack Snyder to Direct Crossover Film

SUPERBATMAN! — Zack Snyder to Direct Crossover Film
Russ Fischer

OK, here’s the official word about the future of the DC Universe on screen via Warner Bros. Or the official suggestion. Zack Snyder took the stage at the end of the DC panel, gesturing that moderator Chris Hardwick should move aside. Snyder said, “I’m gonna take the lectern from you, because some shit’s going to happen up here.”

Snyder continued:

It’s official that we are going to make another Superman movie. And you say, Zack, what is the movie about? But you don’t want me to tell you that. You want to go and see the movie. But I can say that maybe there’s a single element that will…

‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ — Joss Whedon Reveals the Sequel!

‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ — Joss Whedon Reveals the Sequel!

Because there’s so much info on this, I’m going to quote several sources on this. So instead of making this a Linked List post to a single item, this is a big conglomeration of info about the second Avengers film.

First up, Russ Ficher of /Film:

Joss Whedon took the stage at Hall H today to intro a brief teaser clip for a new film. The footage featured animated close-ups of metal being pounded into shape as we hear clips of dialogue from The Avengers. But as the metal object revolves and the camera pulls back the head of Ultron is revealed.

Smash cut to title: The Avengers: Age of…

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Theatrical Trailer

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Theatrical Trailer

I have a whole lot of saved stuff coming out of San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) over the weekend that I’m still sifting through. I feel about like Dug from Up: “Hey, this thing looks cool, I think I’ll post… SQUIRREL!”

This was the first item to catch my attention this morning when I looked at my queue, there will be more!

So this second film in The Hunger Games universe is directed by Francis Lawrence and featured all the same primary cast members, including of course, Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark. Many of the cast members appeared on stage at…

The Pixar Theory

The Pixar Theory

TJ recaps the highlights of the week, including the fact that for a second week in a row, the Anti-Villain League was unable to stop Gru from making off with the cash from the Box Office, as well as the complete run-down of the top eight films at last weekend’s box office. Then there’s the Pixar theory. Someone had way too much time on their hands, but it’s a lot of fun an you’ll want to check it out. J.J. Abrams is planning to direct the next ‘Star Trek’ films in spite of his commitments to ‘Star Wars’ which, really, seems like a bad idea. We should get some new blood! Also, you may like to know about how ‘Man of Steel’ should have ended. Of course the movie would only have been like 30 minutes, but it would have been much better. TJ released his ‘Pacific Rim’ review on Wednesday and then talked about it on ‘The MovieByte Podcast’. ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ has a Premiere date! WooHoo! ‘Wolverine’ (the first Wolverine film, not the one coming up) got an honest trailer, which was a lot of fun. And ‘The Fifth Estate’ trailer staring Benedict Cumberbatch as Jullian Assange has also been released. And of course, there are things you might like to see this weekend. TJ give you the full scoop!

What To See: Weekend of July 19, 2013

What To See: Weekend of July 19, 2013

This weekend the box office is zipping right through a dose of nitrous oxide into the world of the dead to bring you some folks who are retired but extremely dangerous.

New in Theaters

Turbo — PG

To be honest, this film doesn’t look great to me. Dreamworks has always been a bit hit or miss for me, and especially in the the past they’ve tended to be a bit copy cat like with some of their films.

But, I do have it on good authority that this film is better than one might expect so I’ll have to see it and form my own opinion.

Turbo (Ryan Reynolds) is a speed-obsessed snail with an…

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Featurette Featuring Joss Whedon

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Featurette Featuring Joss Whedon

I’m looking forward to this show with great anticipation, so of course I’m going to post this featurette for you all to see. I want to share my joy and excitement and… oh, you know, I mean Joss Whedon! How can a TV Show go wrong with Joss Whedon in the background pulling the strings? I submit that it cannot.

Welcome to Level 7!

Welcome to Battle School — ‘Ender’s Game’ Clip

Welcome to Battle School — ‘Ender’s Game’ Clip

Well, it appears that Battle School ain’t like dustin crops boy! The aliens invaded and it must never be allowed to happen again!

I know nothing of the book series, but those who do tell me that this film is going to be good. And I’m looking forward to it, for sure.

But don’t take my word for it, let Colonel Graff convince you in a message to his young cadets preparing for battle training in this first clip from Ender’s Game.

‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ — Electro!

‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ — Electro!

You all already know how I can’t wait to not see this film, but, well, you know, it’s my duty to share this with you I suppose.

This is a trailer for a panel from San Diego Comic Con, but it’s the first look we’ve gotten at Jamie Foxx as Electro. It seems that whatever the deal is, and whatever is going on here, he can “feel it in his veins” or something. Man, can I not wait to not see this second installment in the reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. Ugh.

But for you nu-Spidey lovers (crazy though you may be), here you are.

‘The Fifth Estate’ Trailer Featuring Benedict Cumberbatch

‘The Fifth Estate’ Trailer Featuring Benedict Cumberbatch

Is he a hero or a traitor? Is he a threat to national security? This upcoming film is Based on the books Inside WikiLeaks: My Time With Julian Assange At The World’s Most Dangerous Website (by former Assange ally Daniel Domscheit-Berg) and WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War On Secrecy (by David Leigh and Luke Harding). It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Assange.

I think I’d like to see this.

Triggering our age of high-stakes secrecy, explosive news leaks and the trafficking of classified information, WikiLeaks forever changed the game. Now, in a dramatic thriller based on real…
