The latest Toy Story short, Partysaurus Rex, premiered recently in front of the 3D re-release of Finding Nemo, and just showed up on television this week, thanks to the Disney Channel. The short gives Rex the dinosaur a brief starring role, as he turns into an unlikely party maven when left alone with a new group of toys. Now you can watch the short online.

Disney is revving up the short films once again. I believe it is the influence of Pixar rubbing off on them, what with the short films Pixar produced since the beginnings of their studio.

I believe Joseph saw this film last night. I have now caught the first Taken film via iTunes rental. It was a pretty good film, so I’m looking forward to Taken 2 which I should be able…

More Horribleness! ‘Dr. Horrible 2’ Could Film Next Year

More Horribleness! ‘Dr. Horrible 2’ Could Film Next Year
io9

We may not have to wait too much longer for more Dr. Horrible — rumor has it the script for the sequel could be done by the end of this year. Which means Neil Patrick Harris might be putting on his evil goggles one more time in 2013!

Dr. Horrible SPOILER ALERT:

Kind of cool, but I’m trying to figure out how Dr. Horrible would be any good without Felcia Day. And seeing how her character died… or maybe Dr. Horrible can bring her back to life. Or maybe flash backs? Who knows.

With Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog airing tonight on The CW, it seemed like an appropriate time to post this teaser trailer from four years ago.

I mean it’s just good fun.

The Red Pill - A Review of ‘The Matrix’ — Review

The Red Pill - A Review of ‘The Matrix’

“The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work… when you go to church… when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.”

Ever since the inception of The MovieByte Podcast, and the MovieByte site, I have looked forward to this day with some trepidation. You see, The Matrix is one of my all-time favorite films, and something like “your favorite film” is so subjective, and there are people…

Disney’s Original 1994 ‘Looper’ Trailer

Disney’s Original 1994 ‘Looper’ Trailer

Did you know Looper is a remake? Our friend at Carpe Seizure made sure we did. Truthfully speaking, what if Looper (2012) were based after a sad Disney movie of the 90s? I think we all would still enjoy it.

In case you wonder, this is a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt from Angels in the Outfield (1994) in the following video. Most people don’t remember seeing Joseph before Inception, yet his career started early in life.

Here’s the full details about the Screen Junkies video from YouTube:

Did you know Rian Johnson’s Looper (2012) is actually a remake?? In this installment of SuperCuts…

Interview with Star Trek TNG Remastering Team

Interview with Star Trek TNG Remastering Team
Trek Core

A few weeks ago CBS invited TrekCore to talk with the CBS Digital team responsible for the wondrous restoration and remastering of Star Trek: The Next Generation in high definition. Craig Weiss and his team were very generous with their time and answered a huge number of questions, often very technical in nature. I hope you enjoy the resulting interview and leave with a greater understanding and appreciation for the monumental effort that this project represents, and of the wonderfully talented people who are working tirelessly behind-the-scenes to make it happen.

There are no words in…

‘Looper’ Star Emily Blunt to be Ms. Marvel?

‘Looper’ Star Emily Blunt to be Ms. Marvel?
FilmoFilia.com

Well, Brit thesps Emily Blunt and Ruth Wilson are reportedly the final two contenders to play Ms. Marvel in Marvel’s The Avengers 2, never mind that Ms. Marvel isn’t a confirmed character in the film.

For you non-nerds in the audience, Carol Danvers, later known as Ms. Marvel is an air force pilot who gains superpowers after an accident in a Kree device explosion – fusing her DNA into half-human, half-Kree.

Emily Blunt offered us a great performance in Looper. I was very impressed.
