Don’t Bad Guys Watch Movies?

Don’t Bad Guys Watch Movies?

TJ’s voice is better, his Internet is back, and he and Chad are raring to go! First up: ‘The Muppets’! TJ has been getting caught up in preparation for the upcoming ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ and though he’s enjoyed some of them more than others he’s enjoying himself with the outlandish Muppet clan. Of course there’s also The Oscars to talk about. And don’t forget that there’s the rumor of a new ‘Matrix’ trilogy by the Wachowskis. And this week features two reviews: ‘The Monuments Men’ which neither Chad nor TJ liked very much, and ‘Non-Stop’, which was sadly a far better film than ‘Monuments Men’. What is the state of filmmaking coming to?

Idina Menzel Sings “Let It Go” with Jimmy Fallon & The Roots

Idina Menzel Sings “Let It Go” with Jimmy Fallon & The Roots

You read my post earlier about how much I love Frozen, right? Well, what I didn’t say is this:

I’m sick of “Let It Go.”

Great song? For sure. Deserving of the Academy Award for Best Original Song? Totally. Idina Menzel sings it beautifully? Oh yeah.

But it has been so ridiculously overplayed over the past few months that I’m ready to just Let. It. Go. (I went there!) Despite all of that, I was so excited to hear Menzel perform it live on the Oscars this past Sunday, but I was incredibly underwhelmed, partially because I’m still tired of the song and partially because she didn’t sing it…

Zack Snyder Addresses ‘Batman vs. Superman’ Casting Criticisms

Zack Snyder Addresses ‘Batman vs. Superman’ Casting Criticisms
Adam Chitwood - Collider

We all know what TJ’s opinion of last year’s Man of Steel is. I, on the other hand, enjoyed it well enough, though it certainly had its problems. That being said, I’m actually looking forward to the sequel film, unofficially titled/referred to as Batman vs. Superman

Of course, the talk of the town are the casting choices made so far, with both the selections of Ben Affleck as Batman (affectionately referred to as “Batfleck”) and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor receiving much criticism from fans around the world. Rest assured (?), friends, director Zack Snyder is here to quell your fears in…

New Take on ‘Veronica Mars’ ‘We Used To Be Friends’ Theme

New Take on ‘Veronica Mars’ ‘We Used To Be Friends’ Theme
Lindsey Bahr — Entertainment Weekly

Any true Marshmallow knows the rest of the words. The rousing 2003 Dandy Warhols tune “We Used to Be Friends” underscored the opening credits of Veronica Mars throughout its three seasons on the air. Even though it had a radio life outside of the show (it was even used on an episode of The O.C.!), the song belongs to Veronica Mars. Like all great theme songs, it has become indistinguishable from the show itself.

But Veronica and the rest of the gang have evolved in the past decade, and a new era in the world of our favorite sleuth warrants a new take on the song. On the eve of the movie’s…

‘Frozen’ Passes $1 Billion at Box Office Following Oscar Win

‘Frozen’ Passes $1 Billion at Box Office Following Oscar Win

I really enjoyed Frozen. I’m talking “I-saw-it-three-times-in-theaters” enjoyed it. I’m talking “I-can-sing-most-of-the-songs-word-for-word” enjoyed it. I’M TALKI-

I think I’ve made my point.

Anyway, all of that goes to say that I’m not the only one who really enjoyed this film. For starters, our old friend Joe Darnell and I talked about it on Episode #72 of The MovieByte Podcast. It also won two awards at Sunday’s 86th Academy Awards - Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song for “Let It Go,” sung by Idina Menzel (or, as John Travolta would have us believe, “Adele Dazim”) and…

Non-Stop — Review

3 of 5 stars
Non-Stop

The one thing you can never do when Liam Neeson is in the film is say that there was no talent brought to bear for whatever film you happen to be watching. Let’s review.

For me, he really came into prominence with Schindler’s List. While I have no intention of watching the film again, or certainly not for a long time, it’s not because the film is not good or because Neeson was not good. Indeed, Neeson’s performance is amazing and the role is well done.

Then he was the only decent Jedi in a completely mixed up alternate universe where the Star Wars prequels were made (I don’t acknowledge…

The Opening Scene from The ‘Veronica Mars’ Movie

The Opening Scene from The ‘Veronica Mars’ Movie

The Veronica Mars movie will be released on March 14th, but if that’s too long for you to wait, we’ve got the opening sequence right here right now for you.

I have finally just finished season 1 of the show and have started on season 2. I like it for the most part and I love the look of this opening sequence. And while I’m looking forward to the film, I really want to get through all the episodes before I see it so I don’t know when I’ll get to see the film.

Here’s the opening sequence.

Rumor: New Matrix Trilogy in the Works

Rumor: New Matrix Trilogy in the Works
Kellvin Chavez — Latino Review

The Wachowski siblings have a very long history over at Warner Bros. but with the exception of the Matrix Trilogy, none of their movies have had great financial success.

Speed Racer/Cloud Atlas tanked and let’s not kid ourselves, by the looks of it, Jupiter Ascending will not be much better.

We’ve been told that the Wachowski’s have already started the writing process with early treatments and outlines already turned into the studio. No word if they will want to direct but my money says “Claro que Si!”.

I have really mixed feelings about this if it’s true. The Matrix is one of the best…

Harrison Ford Begs Agents To Just Let Him Die Now

Harrison Ford Begs Agents To Just Let Him Die Now
The Onion

LOS ANGELES—Saying that “it’s time,” a visibly weary Harrison Ford pleaded with his agents Thursday to simply stop this and let him die, sources confirmed. “Please, you’ve had your fill. Just let me go quietly into the night,” the 71-year-old Ender’s Game star reportedly said, later imploring his agents not to hand him any more scripts and to just “let [him] go to sleep forever.”

Hahahahah, this is awesome!

‘Agents of SHIELD: Uprising’ Trailer from The Oscars

‘Agents of SHIELD: Uprising’ Trailer from The Oscars

If you can get past the fact that this is a hand-held filming of a TV commercial this is sort of interesting if you’re into Agents of SHIELD like I am. Of course these things can often be given to hyperbole, but the spot promises that the Marvel Universe will be changed forever by a seismic shift. And who knows what the Uprising implies. And I don’t even know what that means because it’s not the title of the episode airing tomorrow night. The name of that episode is T.A.H.I.T.I. so I’m slightly confused. But I still can’t wait to see it. As usual, I’m a second class citizen according to them…
