As usual, I’m too busy with Church and family for The Oscars. Maybe one year I’ll watch but I’m really just much more interested in finding out whot he winners are after the fact. Kind of strange for a guy who likes movies I know, but I would just rather watch the movies.

But I did enjoy watching Ellen DeGeneres opening bit. Seth McFarlane hosted last year and while he was not universally hated, many think that he was way too low class. Sorry I’m getting started on posts so late today. We had an ice storm last night that has covered the roads with ice, and somehow took out my home internet. The roads have finally been cleared enough for me to make it to a McDonald’s (I know, I know) with free Internet and get some posts going.

I discovered Minecraft sometime last year and went through quite a long period of time of being addicted to what appears on the surface to be a rather simple game. For those of you out there who have given the survival/creation game a try know exactly what I’m talking about.

Bringing The Muppets back to the big screen in 2011 was nothing short of a rousing success. So it’s no surprise that they’re back this year. And by all accounts, it looks like it’s going to be great.

In this video we get to see the Muppets singing and dancing and cracking jokes at their own expense and telling us how sequels are never as good as the original and it’s just wonderful.

With a new script, a new release date, and a new plan for working around Paul Walker‘s passing, Fast & Furious 7 is finally getting ready to resume production.

Universal is gearing up to start filming again in Atlanta, where the high-speed actioner had been shooting before Walker’s death.

THR reports that cast and crew are preparing to shoot in Atlanta “on or near” April 1. That gives director James Wan and the studio about one year to complete the movie, which is scheduled to open April 10, 2015. About six to eight weeks of filming remain.

This weekend, someone is apparently stupid enough to try to hijack a plane the Liam Neeson is on. We’ve already established the dude is not to be messed with, and certainly don’t take his daughter. But apparently someone is at it again. I feel like Neeson’s movies are just one big franchise.

Regardless of any other feelings about the film, whether it was good, bad or otherwise, one must admit that the graphics in the film were incredible and breathtaking. Oftentimes the film exceeded my expectations of the things that had been described in the book — which is indeed a rarity for me. I often find that my imagination has supplied far better graphics that what films have been able to give us. Not so this time.

Sony Pictures is making big plans for its Spider-Man franchise and beyond.  When the studio announced plans to move forward with a Venom spinoff and a Sinister Six film in addition to further adventures in the proper Spider-Man series, it became clear that the studio was keen on building its own mini-universe not unlike Marvel’s interconnected franchises.  Now it appears that the plan involves releasing a new Spider-Man film every year for the foreseeable future.  That begins with 2016’s The Amazing Spider-Man 3, which the studio has now confirmed that Marc Webb will indeed be returning to…

Adam Driver is ready to travel to a galaxy far, far, away.

Sources tell Variety that while no deal is done yet, the “Girls” actor is close to signing on to play the villain in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Exact details are unknown, but the character is said to be in the vein of iconic “Star Wars” villain Darth Vader.

Driver, 30, is the first cast member to be revealed for Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm’s highly-anticipated “Star Wars” installment, which will open in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
