Rated S for Super Spoilers! - Man of Steel Honest Trailer

Rated S for Super Spoilers! - Man of Steel Honest Trailer

YES! I’ve been waiting for this for what seems like my whole life — or at least since I got out of the theater from seeing this horrible travesty of a film. This film was such a horrible train wreck that I don’t even need to put my normal caveats in place about how while I enjoyed the honest trailer I still lliked the film. No, I think Man of Steel pretty much deserves every one of these jabs and more.

This may be the most fun I’ve had with one of these yet.

‘Gravity’ - VFX Breakdown of one Shot

‘Gravity’ - VFX Breakdown of one Shot

I don’t know about you guys, but I really love this stuff. This breaks down how a CG helmet was placed in the scene floating around in the cabin with Sandra Bullock as she was attempting to figure out how to maneuver the escape pod thing she was in. I’ve done 2D and pseudo 3D work in After Effects, but this is a different world altogether. What’s really remarkable is that though I remember this shot, I had no idea that the helmet in this particular shot was 3D. In fact, if you had asked me about this shot I would not have remembered that there was a floating helmet in it at all. It’s a…

What Loki Scenes Were Added to ‘Thor: The Dark World’

What Loki Scenes Were Added to ‘Thor: The Dark World’
Germain Lussier - /Film

If one were to believe all the negative buzz during production on Thor: The Dark World, you’d assume the film is a disaster. It’s not. In fact, it’s pretty fantastic and a shining example of how things many laymen think of as huge red flags — such as reshoots and rewrites — can actually be used to drastically improve a film.

During production, several rumors came out about the making of the Thor sequel. In the coming days, we’ll give you the scoop on all of them. First up, much was made over the fact that director Alan Taylor went back to add more scenes with Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki. That’s…

‘Return of the Jedi’ Deleted Scene Resurfaces

‘Return of the Jedi’ Deleted Scene Resurfaces

This is an interesting deleted scene that I’ve never seen before and it’s too bad that it got cut. As it stands, Return of the Jedi is my least favorite film in the original trilogy. While it’s still good, and still watchable, there are signs of where Lucas would ultimately head. Silliness and simplicity were the name of the game with this film. And cutting meaty scenes like this didn’t help. Had this and probably many other more heave and weighty scene remained in the film, I think it would have been far better of for it.

You see in this deleted scene, Yoda tells Luke about how he and…

Jar Jar Dies…

Jar Jar Dies…

Alright, lets establish something right up front before I share this video with you: There are only three Star Wars films. Three!

Ahh, but that said, George Lucas did make some other films that masquerade as Star Wars films. While I consider Episodes II and III to be at least watchable, Episode I is a real complete and total mess. Much of that can be blamed on Jar Jar. I’d say maybe even a good 50% of the badness of that first prequel can be blamed on Jar Jar actually now that I think of it — or at least the thinking and filmmaking behind the film that led to the inclusion and stupidity of…

‘Les Miserabublbles’ — The Honest Trailer

‘Les Miserabublbles’ — The Honest Trailer

I admit it, I enjoyed Les Miserables far more than I thought I would. But I think I may have enjoyed the Honest Trailer even more. I mean seriously, why must we sing our way through the entire film? I know, I know, I’m uncultured or whatever.

But this is great:

‘Agents of SHIELD’ - ‘Thor’ Crossover

‘Agents of SHIELD’ - ‘Thor’ Crossover
Russ Fischer - /Film

In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces–one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.

This one airs November 19, with Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation) directing and guest stars such as Peter MacNicol, Michael Graziadei, Erin Way, Toby Wilson, Alex Neustaedter, and Sylvia Brindis.

Sounds good to me. I’ve found Frakes to be a pretty good director. I liked both of his Star Trek films (haters of Insurrection can just deal with it), and he’s directed…

‘The Lego Movie’ — Trailer 2

‘The Lego Movie’ — Trailer 2

I have to admit, I wasn’t sold on this movie at first. But I’m starting to get into the mood for it. Now who knows, maybe they’ve put all the jokes in the trailer and this will be a dud, but it looks to be a completely hillarious and fun movie. Now if they can find just enough seriousness to pull off a decent plot everything will be good!

Check out the trailer, it’s a lot of fun. The Lego Movie will be in theaters on Februrary 14, 2014.

Bryan Singer Breaks Down the ‘Days of Future Past’ Trailer for us

Bryan Singer Breaks Down the ‘Days of Future Past’ Trailer for us
Angie Han - /Film

There was a lot to absorb in that first trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Original trilogy X-Men were bumping up against First Class X-Men, new characters were showing up left and right, and the emotional arc was cresting just as action and mayhem broke out in both timelines.

Fortunately, director Bryan Singer is happy to guide fans through that jam-packed promo. “It really is what we wanted from the first look at the movie,” he said. Hit the jump for his commentary on some key moments.

Really looking forward to this film and so loving every minute of this! Great stuff, go check it…

Batman vs. Superman in ‘The Lego Movie’ Pre-Trailer Trailer

Batman vs. Superman in ‘The Lego Movie’ Pre-Trailer Trailer

Alright, fine, I have to admit that I’ve been slowly warming up to this film. And yeah, I’m certainly looking forward to it more than the official Batman vs. Superman coming in 2015.

In this trailer, the competition between Superman and Batman hits an all time high as Batman finds new motivation to stay in character. I laughed so hard…

Unfortunately, the trailer referenced here actually comes out today since I’m late posting this, but I probably won’t be around to post the trailer. I’ll make sure it’s here on Friday.
