Rampant Imagination

Star Wars Episode VII: Geriatrics of the New Republic

Yes, jump forward in time to when J.J. Abrams and Disney release their next Star Wars motion picture. What do you think the posters will look like? Bringing back the old cast — and likely introducing new faces to the Star Wars saga — this film’s posters promise to… show off elderly Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, and Lando Calrissian. Mm. Are we ready for this? Are you ready to see your childhood heroes as you have never imagined them before?

A very talented illustrator, Adam Schickling, follows in the design…

Shatner Battles The Gorn… Again

Shatner Battles The Gorn… Again

I have no interest in this game, but I thought this trailer was loads of fun. And Shatner telling the Gorn he’s “overacting” is just too rich.

Plus seeing those silly hand to hand techniques from Star Trek of the ‘60s: too much fun. Who ever fights like that? And poor old out of breath Kirk…

If you are interested in the game, don’t be fooled by the appearance of “Kirk Prime”. Apparently it’s set in the JJVerse and takes place between the events of Star Trek (2009), and Star Trek Into Darkness.

See the epic battle below.

So, this is a pretty neat idea if you ask me.

BIG NEWS: We’re gonna be on TV!
“Hit RECord on TV” is gonna be a new kind of variety show. I’ll host the show and also direct our global online community to create short films, live performances, music, animation, conversation, and of course, more! Each episode will be focused on a different theme. And like always, anybody with an internet connection is invited to contribute.

I’m super excited to get started!

Are you RECording?

Hacking the Mainframe

Hacking the Mainframe

I love films as much as anybody, but I often get annoyed by how overly unrealistic many things are portrayed. Computers are the worst offenders often. It’s one thing to portray unrealistic things in Sci-Fi, but it’s another to portray them wrong in more real to life scenarios. I especially love all the bleeps and bloops computers made as on screen actors interact with touch screens (that aren’t really touch screens) and the little digital scrolling noises browsers make as they scroll (if my computer really made that noise I would turn it off so fast…).

I realize this is the movies and we…

The Wolverine Teaser Trailer Announcement on Vine

The Wolverine Teaser Trailer Announcement on Vine

Best use of Vine ever. I have not used the Vine video service, nor particulalry cared, but this is awesome and may have singlehandedly made me more interested in the serivce.

James Mangold has put it to great use, with what is apparently clips from the full teaser trailer. Some on Twitter have taken to calling this the Tweaser.

Check it out.

3 New ‘Cars’ Short Films

3 New ‘Cars’ Short Films

I like Cars and as such, I thought I would post these new short films from the franchise. They aren’t really anything special. But I like Cars. Yes even Cars 2 is better than people give it credit for. No it’s not nearly as good as Cars was, or as good as most everything else Pixar produces (most, not all), but it’s still pretty good. Anyway, these are not spectacular or anything, but here they are.

‘Monsters University’ Promos

‘Monsters University’ Promos

If you’re looking for a good monster college, Monsters University looks like the place to go. They’ve put out some great promo clips about how their university will help you become a great scarer. There’s probably no better place to send your little monsters!

Seriously though, I’m looking forward to this film’s release on June 21! Enjoy the clips.

Watch: ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ Opening Sequence

Watch: ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ Opening Sequence

You may think me crazy, or may think I’m jesting, but one of the most fun parts of Oz the Great and Powerful was the opening title sequence. It was very nice stylistically and was a great way to open up the film.

Now the opening title sequence has been released on YouTube for your viewing pleasure straight from Disney. I suppose this is a way to generate even more interest in the film, but it’s fun for me and you for sure.

Give it a look.

Another ‘Oblivion’ Featurette

Another ‘Oblivion’ Featurette

Awesome stuff here. I can’t wait for this one. And I love that they are doing more things as practical effects than some might do. When possible to do, practical effects, physical set pieces etc. are still better.

The film makes it’s debut on April 19 and stars Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborogh, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Melissa Leo, and is directed by Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski.

George Lucas Sent Drawing to James Cameron

George Lucas Sent Drawing to James Cameron

I may be behind the times here because apparently this image has been around for a while but I only just saw it yesterday and I thought it was hilarious. I couldn’t help but sharing it with you.

This is reported to be what George Lucas sent to James Cameron when Titanic overtook Star Wars at the box office.

I love it! This is so awesome!
