The ‘Agents of SHIELD’ Website

The ‘Agents of SHIELD’ Website
AgentsOfShield.com

It’s a new world. Nothing has been the same since the Battle of New York. These are the agents that work the cases that S.H.I.E.L.D. hasn’t classified. When you’re dealing with the strange and the mysterious, you need a hand-picked team that can get the job done no matter the circumstances. Here you can browse and share files on our team of agents.

The new, official Agents of SHIELD website. I haven’t had a chance to comb through it all, but there appears to be some good stuff here. Do note though, that they have committed the cardinal sin of auto-playing music when you visit the site.…

Alice Eve Talks What She Wants in the Next ‘Star Trek’

Alice Eve Talks What She Wants in the Next ‘Star Trek’

One of the better things about Star Trek Into Darkness was that Chris Pine’s Kirk and Alice Eve’s Carol Marcus had good chemistry. And I was glad they didn’t feel the need to be tied to the type of person Carol Marcus was in The Wrath of Khan. Particularly I enjoyed that in this different timeline she was brought up in a way that she acquired an English accent (but that could just be because I love English accents).

In any event, she has a few things she’d like to see for Star Trek and for her character in the next outing.

Joss Whedon Talks ‘SHIELD’ - From TV to Blockbuster and Back to TV

Joss Whedon Talks ‘SHIELD’ - From TV to Blockbuster and Back to TV
James Poniewozik

You have to subscribe to TIME to read my full column (sorry). But you can read this for free: my full Q&A with Whedon, who I sat down with at the Television Critics Association press tour in August, just after critics saw the SHIELD pilot. We talked about the themes I wrote about in my column, as well as the challenges of adapting the franchise, serving the multiple masters of movies and TV (and the interests of Marvel and ABC), and what it means for little guys to live in a world of gods and Hulks. And it went a little like this:

At what point where you persuaded that this material could…

Five Clips from ‘Agents of SHIELD’

Five Clips from ‘Agents of SHIELD’

I won’t wast too much of your time with my babbling about how great this show is going to be. The awesome is just right below this really short blurb.

Let me just say my favorite line out of all five videos is, “I’m not Hermione, I can’t create instant paralysis with that.”

‘Iron Man 3’ Comes to iTunes

‘Iron Man 3’ Comes to iTunes
Rene Ritchie - iMore

Iron Man 3, the Shane Black-directed sequel to last year’s phenomenal Avengers movie, is now available on iTunes and comes complete with iTunes Extras. What’s more, a JARVIS app is coming next week for iPhone as well. Jarvis was originally Tony Stark’s - very human - butler. When Marvel made the Iron Man movie, however, they re-imagined JARVIS as an artificially intelligent computer system to run Tony’s house, and eventually his armor. Think Super Siri.

Head on over and grab it, guys! This was one of the better movies this year so far.

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Tickets Available on October 1st

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Tickets Available on October 1st
Andrew Asare - Entertainment Weekly

With only twelve weeks to go before release, Lionsgate announced Friday that tickets for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will go on sale starting October 1st, at 12p.m. ET / 9a.m. PT with advance movie tickets available through Fandango and MovieTickets.com.

I will probably go ahead and get mine on October 1st. I’ve made a reminder for myself on my calendar. Cannot wait! The film releases on November 22.

Also, I found this little tidbit fun:

The first installment broke records for advance ticket sales, outpacing the Twilight series.

Good. Somewhat famously, I didn’t hate the…

Joss Whedon, the creative genius behind the feature film “Marvel’s The Avengers,” one of the highest grossing films of all time, and the iconic television series “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” has co-created Marvel’s first television series “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” a dynamic, action-packed one-hour drama that brings back Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) to lead a team of highly skilled agents to investigate extra-normal and super human people and events worldwide. The series begins where the “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off. It’s just after the battle of New York, and now that the…

Netflix, Pilots, and ‘House of Cards’

Netflix, Pilots, and ‘House of Cards’

We have learned the lesson the music industry didn’t learn: give people what they want

Actually, I think we’re a long way from that but he’s right, the Netflix model with House of Cards is a major step in the rigth direction. This, by the way, is why I watch House of Cards aside from the fact that it’s just pretty good story and television.

This is SO worth watching. Please take the time to watch. It’s fairly obvious too that Kevin Spacey is on our side and he’s saying things I’ve been saying for years.

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Honest Trailer

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Honest Trailer

Just in time for the home video release! The question has to be asked, “Are we really sure we don’t want to put a colon in there?” Personally I never had any problem with the colons and I’m sure that this title needs one. But other than that, I felt like this trailer was a wee bit harsh on what I consider to be one of the better Star Trek films. Even so, I really enjoy these things, and this was no exception.

Not to completely spoil this for you, but I will just say that my favorite line is, “The Enterprise survives more hits than it took in the entire original series…” Pretty much. Enjoy!

David Prowse Does Not Like the Prequels

David Prowse Does Not Like the Prequels
Kevin Jagernauth - The Playlist

We might not ever have seen his face, but the man behind the Darth Vader mask has a few things to say about the prequels.

Darth Vader actor Dave Prowse recently let loose on his feelings about George Lucas’ prequels and like many of us, he was kinda bummed out when he saw them. “I didn’t like ‘Star Wars’ I, II and III at all. I think the common opinion now is they were really bad movies,” he told Hull Daily Mail, adding: “There’s no comparison with the original movies. They had a much more believable story.”

I don’t like the prequels any more than any other average Star Wars fan, but I…
