New Trailer for ‘Jupiter Ascending’

New Trailer for ‘Jupiter Ascending’

So, speaking of sci-fi…

Call me a sucker for it, call me silly, insane, whatever, but I still think this film looks really good. I know there are a lot of warning signs, I know it looks just a little too slick, I know that there was a reason it was moved to a February release date — right off of prime real estate — but I think it looks fantastic.

The Wachowskis have been pretty hit or miss for my part. While The Matrix holds a very special place near and dear to my heart, the follow up films in that franchise were not up to that first film’s genius. And please don’t even get me started…

‘Predestination’ Trailer

‘Predestination’ Trailer

Ethan Hawke is a temporal agent — or at least he’s playing one in the trailer for the upcoming Predestination.

I do not believe time travel is actually possible — or if it is, it will most certainly not work the way it does in the movies (I mean really, a Delorean?). That said, I’m a pretty notorious nut for sci-fi, and time travel can make for some great sci-fi. And this certainly looks like great stuff. It’s an interesting take in that it has sort of a film noir look to it, but it’s a time travel film. There’s also the idea that I’m sure appeals to all of us on some level, and that is, if…

‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ Trailer 2

‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ Trailer 2

I sure hope this film is as fantastic as it looks. Sure, it’s completely unrealistic, but it looks just spectacular. Sure, it will be goofy, but my money says there’s a story in there.

Mathew Vaughn is directing, and he’s begun to make quite a name for himself. He does solid work and I think this has the potential to prove his best film yet. Colin firth is, of course, a solid choice, though not necessarily someone you would expect to see in this particular role. But I think he’ll work well.

There’s also Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, and Mark Hamill. Lots to look forward to here.

‘Big Eyes’ Trailer - Starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz

‘Big Eyes’ Trailer - Starring Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz

I like Amy Adams in anything I have seen her in. Yes, yes, Man of Steel was a terrible movie that I hope with all my heart I never have to watch again, but Amy Adams was good in it.

Christoph Waltz I have actually only seen in two films, but I thought he was good in both.

On that basis, I am interested in this film. I’m not much of an art watcher, but this film does look interesting. It takes place in the 1950s and 60s when sexism was in some ways at an all time high even though at the same time, feminism was on the rise in a serious way.

Amy Adams plays Margaret Keane who was apparently…

CGI Animated ‘Popeye’ Test Footage

CGI Animated ‘Popeye’ Test Footage

Popeye was one of my mainstay cartoons growing up. It was funny and unique and I enjoyed it immensely. Looking back on it, it’s pretty cheesy and probably not really worth watching. But it still holds a special place in my heart.

I was unaware of this CGI movie until just now, and I have to admit the idea of it is not very endearing. Much like my initial thoughts on the Peanuts film, I just don’t think this could be all that good. I’ve been giving this some thought to try to figure out my own thoughts and put them into word for you. I think the problem for me is that reviving these old…

‘The Judge’ Trailer 2

‘The Judge’ Trailer 2

If Billy Bob Thornton doesn’t ruin this film, it’s going to be great I think. I’m in and I sure hope I’m not disappointed. The film primarily stars Robert Downy Jr. and Robert Duvall. Billy Bob Thornton is going to play a fairly major role though, it looks like (ugh), as the prosecutor of our two protagonist’s case.

The film will also star Vera Farmiga, Leighton Meester, and Vincent D’Onofrio. Check out the trailer.

First Full Trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’

First Full Trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’

I think this series is getting better with each successive film. That’s what it looks like to me. Mockingjay Part 1 seems no less fantastic than Catching Fire if this trailer is to be believed. And given that it’s the same team at the helm, I don’t know why I wouldn’t believe it.

It does seem as if Katiniss’ interactions with President Snow might be upped and deviated a bit from the book, but I think that will actually be a good thing. Again, just from the trailer, but I continue to be impressed with Jennifer Lawrence’s ability to portray basically the way I had envisioned the character in…

Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary Swank Oscar Bid: ‘The Homesman’ Trailer

Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary Swank Oscar Bid: ‘The Homesman’ Trailer

This one looks to me like a bid to get in at the Oscars. And maybe it is Oscar material, might be too early to tell. I’m not too sure about that premise — three women went crazy, their husbands won’t care for them, and they need to be taken back somewhere, for reasons. I don’t know. But the trailer does look mighty good. And Tommy Lee Jones looks fantastic.

Check out the trailer below, and for good measure, I’ve got an international trailer below that shows a few different things as well.

International Trailer for ‘The Judge’ Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall

International Trailer for ‘The Judge’ Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall

I have been wrong before, but it sure seems like I can feel how good this film is going to be in my bones. I’m really excited to see what RDJ and Duvall have for us here. Downey seems like he’s in his fairly characteristic style with a few twists, but I don’t think that has to be a bad thing. And hopefully I’ll be able to put aside my disllike of Billy Bob Thornton to enjoy this film. I mean, maybe he’ll actually even be tollerable, who knows.

But I do know that I think this film will be a great one. Check out the latest trailer.

‘Starring Adam West’ Trailer

‘Starring Adam West’ Trailer

When you think of Adam West, what’s the first thing you think of? That cheesy, cheesy Batman series from the 60s of course. For many, many of the middle aged to older folks in our culture, Adam West is Batman (for better or worse). We can argue about who has played the role best over the years, but there is no doubt that the name of Adam West is recognizable, and in many ways, iconic.

That’s why I’m interested in seeing this film.
