‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Featurette Featuring Joss Whedon

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Featurette Featuring Joss Whedon

I’m looking forward to this show with great anticipation, so of course I’m going to post this featurette for you all to see. I want to share my joy and excitement and… oh, you know, I mean Joss Whedon! How can a TV Show go wrong with Joss Whedon in the background pulling the strings? I submit that it cannot.

Welcome to Level 7!

Negotiations for ‘Arrested Development’ Season 5 Underway

Negotiations for ‘Arrested Development’ Season 5 Underway
Kevin Jagernauth - The Playlist

Variety reports that producer Brian Grazer has revealed that negotiations are now underway for a second Netflix season—fifth season overall—for “Arrested Development.” And well, that seems to be all the intel for now, but the news at least indicates that fans probably won’t have to wait another eight years for more wacky antics with the Bluths. There is no doubt that audiences tuned in to watch the latest season in droves, though critical response wasn’t unanimously positive. But there is so much goodwill—and many people really enjoyed season four (though the consensus seems to be that the…

‘Agents of SHIELD’ Promo — Grant Ward

‘Agents of SHIELD’ Promo — Grant Ward

Another appetite wheter has made an appearance for Agents of SHIELD, and let me tell you, it’s very “Joss Whedon-y”. Consider this bit of dialog from the promo (embeded below):

“What does SHIELD” stand for Agent Ward?”

“Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division.”

“And what does that mean to you?”

“It means someone really wanted our intials to spell out SHIELD.”

That is Joss Whedon dialog if I’ve ever heard it, and that makes me very happy. Many people may not quite get the whole Buffy and Angel phenomenon, but that type of writing is why we loved those…

Ming-Na Wen Talks ‘Agents of SHIELD’

Ming-Na Wen Talks ‘Agents of SHIELD’

If there’s one upcoming show I’m excited for, it’s Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. Since Fringe ended, my life has had no meaning. I wander around listlessly muttering questions like, “Why did it end? What is my life about? Is anything worth it? Does it all make sense?”

Well okay, maybe not, but I’ve just had a hard time finding anything to really replace it. I’ve tried to get into Revolution, and it’s okay, but not the same. Here though, I have hope. I’ve enjoyed most things that Joss Whedon has done, and he’ll be involved to some extent, the show is set in his Marvel playground, and he…

‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ Season 5 Blu-ray Trailer

‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ Season 5 Blu-ray Trailer

I’m telling you, I need to scrape some money together and start buying these Blu-rays. Star Trek: The Next Generation is one of my favorite TV shows ever, and the remastered HD episodes I have seen thus far are incredible.

Season 5 is also a really good season of the show. Season 3 really set the show on the right course after the lackluster seasons 1 and 2, and had some of the show’s best episodes. And it’s not that season 4 was bad, but season 5 really brought us another round of really great episodes just like season 3 did. My favorites from season 5 are:

  • Redemption, Pt 2…

How ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Fits In The Marvel Universe

How ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Fits In The Marvel Universe
Cain Rodriguez - The Playlist

I already talked about part of what this linked article is about, but This part was interesting, and not what I mentioned before.

There is also the little matter of the “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” show airing this fall, but to keep things a bit simpler, it will run parallel to the movie world of Marvel. “It basically opens with the idea that since ‘The Avengers’ things have changed. Now everybody knows that there are gods and monsters, and what is the world like? It’s about being the people who aren’t super and what it is like for them,” Whedon shared. “There will be people with powers and…

‘Almost Human’ - New J.J. Abrams TV Show

‘Almost Human’ - New J.J. Abrams TV Show

It is proving rather difficult to fill the void left by my beloved Fringe (I still don’t understand why we couldn’t have had a few more seasons), but maybe this one will come close. It certainly looks like fun, interesting, smart sci-fi, which is what Fringe was. And of course, Karl Urban! Must see!

This action-packed police drama set 35 years in the future centers around the unlikely partnership between a part-machine cop and a part-human robot.

I highly recommend this trailer!

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’’ NBA Finals Spot

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’’ NBA Finals Spot

Apparently, not all heroes are super, at least that’s what we’re being told by the marketing team behind Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. What do you guys think?

Personally, I’m really looking forward to this one. It will be good to have something close to Joss Whedon back on TV. It’s a crying shame that Firefly didn’t stay on TV, but on the other hand, would we have The Avengers and consequently, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. if Firefly had made it? Events transpired the way they did and we have what we have. That’s the way things go I guess. I’m really looking forward to this for sure!

Interview with Ming-Na Wen of ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’

Interview with Ming-Na Wen of ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’
Eric Goldman - IGN.com

With an impressive resume that includes everything from ER to Stargate Universe (and yes, at IGN, we’ll always love her for Street Fighter!), Ming-Na Wen returns to TV this fall as Agent Melinda May on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I recently spoke to Wen about her role on the highly anticipated ABC series, which will tie into the Marvel cinematic universe, with Melinda and her fellow agents going on missions alongside Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg).

Talking to cast members from a secretive project like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. can be tricky, as there is so much they’re not allowed to…
