This sure looks like a lot of fun. Marvel is really on a roll and they show no signs of slowing. I definitely want to catch this.
While the first Captain America film was fantastic, I think this film will be so in an entirely different way if the tone set by this clip is any indication. Much has been made about the high speed hand held format for the shooting, but I found this clip at least to be acceptable. The film is certainly going to be more gritty and modern, obviously being set in modern time this time. It looks like the Captain is learning how to put his skills to more and better uses than before for sure.
I posted the first trailer for this film in November then promptly forgot about it. But it’s back on my radar with the new trailer and I’m still interested. I admit to my shame of having no knowlege of the events that the film is based on. There seems to be an expectation that everyone in the world knows about the “well known West Memphis murder trial” where three teens were wrongly accused and imprisoned for the murder of three children. At the time it was believed to be a part of some sort of satanic ritual.
The film looks to me like it has the potential to be pretty good. We’ll find out…Read The Rest
It’s not much, but if you’re like me, you lap up most anything Marvel throws at you. In’s just a couple short weeks until Marvel kicks off their cinematic year and I can’t wait. At the risk of repeating myself, Captain America: The First Avenger was easily my favorite pre-Avengers Marvel film and I’m hoping that despite all the tonal and directorial differences we’ve been hearing about, Captain America can stay high on my list.
I like Steve Rogers as a character and I like Natasha Romanoff as a character. And the idea of putting the two opposites together in one film as co-stars should make…Read The Rest
At the end of last week’s Agents of SHIELD, we met Larelei who stole one half of a newlywed couple so that he could do her bidding. In this opening clip from the upcoming episode Yes Men airing Tuesday, Lorelei takes over a biker gang.
Lorelei is an Asgardian from the comics, but since I’m more into the cinematic universe and not the comics I don’t know much about her except that she’s sort of not a “good guy”.
Agents of SHIELD has sort of been like a snowball, continuing to build as it rolls along. I have loved the show since day one but it’s been getting better and better.
Changing one letter can change the entire meaning of something. I mean check it out! I nearly busted a gut laughing. And really, who doesn’t like Worf? Worf is awesome!
Also, this is some amazing editing right here. I’m one of the biggest trek nerds you might ever find and I’m not sure I could have found all those clips and pieced this thing together. I didn’t think to check while I was watching, but I’m pretty sure they pulled from all seven seasons of TNG to find the right clips for this thing. And yes, they even have a singing bit right where it would have been the the real The Wolf of…Read The Rest
I have seen Annie, I am quite certain of it. But I remember absolutely nothing about it. I do know that it was a broadway musical.
Well, it is apparently time for a remake — and that remake is still going to be a musical. To be honest, I almost didn’t click through and watch the trailer when I saw the headline. But I am really glad I did. This film actually looks quite good (my wife thinks so too, which I’ll take as confirmation that I’m not going crazy). I have a feeling though that there will be many that love the Broadway Musical, and will therefore hate this film on principle.
The film…Read The Rest
I expected our resident Back to the Future aficionado to want to post something about this but he has been utterly silent. So I’ll go ahead and let you in on what has been going on.
A few days ago, a website popped up called huvrtech.com. That website had a video of Christopher Lloyd, among others, promoting the new “Hover Board” technology. He drove up in a DeLorean!
Even though it was obvious the video was fake and a good bit of fun, I thought it was quite enjoyable. But much of the Internet seems to have been a little irritated after the folks behind the video kept up the ruse for a few…Read The Rest
We’re one month away from the debut of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, so naturally it’s time to start getting excited! Marvel has gone out of it’s way with the misinformation campaign on the last couple of films and I have no reason to believe this film is any different. And there’s one line in this little spot that makes me think they’re letting a hint of something slip. If you’ve seen the past trailers and seen me talking about the possible spoilery details then you’ll know to what I’m refering. The whole spoiler thing that happened in the last full length trailer could be an…Read The Rest
You read my post earlier about how much I love Frozen, right? Well, what I didn’t say is this:
I’m sick of “Let It Go.”
Great song? For sure. Deserving of the Academy Award for Best Original Song? Totally. Idina Menzel sings it beautifully? Oh yeah.
But it has been so ridiculously overplayed over the past few months that I’m ready to just Let. It. Go. (I went there!) Despite all of that, I was so excited to hear Menzel perform it live on the Oscars this past Sunday, but I was incredibly underwhelmed, partially because I’m still tired of the song and partially because she didn’t sing it…Read The Rest
