‘Kite’ - 9 Minutes Worth of Trailer and Clips

‘Kite’ - 9 Minutes Worth of Trailer and Clips

I haven’t heard of this film before now, but after watching I’m actually a little intersted. It’s almost a bit much for me in its violence and grittiness, but I feel like there might be a good story here. Sometimes I am right about these things and sometimes I am wrong.

This upcoming film is apparently based on an anime film from 1998. Who knows what kind of weird things that will make the filmmakers feel like they need to do. But hey, it stars Samuel L. Jackson so it certainly has the potential to be something great because, well, Jackson is awesome.

‘House of Cards’ Season 2 - New Trailer: Hunt or Be Hunted

‘House of Cards’ Season 2 - New Trailer: Hunt or Be Hunted

If there’s one thing I’m really looking forward to in 2014, it’s the release of season 2 of House of Cards. It may be on the cutting edge of where things are headed by being available only on Netflix’s Video On Demand Service, but it’s also one of the most cinematic television shows I have ever watched. I definitely loved the first season for that aspect alone.

But I also loved the look at the political corruption, however dramatized. I think Frank Underwood represents what we all think our politicians may be like, deep down. Kevin Spacey is Underwood is simply amazing. And this trailer is…

‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ Mega Clip and TV Spots

‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ Mega Clip and TV Spots

It won’t be too long now and we’ll be able to see if this film is any good for ourselves. But in the meantime, Paramount is making with the promotional items. This time we get a nice fat clip featuring a shaky camera, and a lot of hard to follow action. Frankly I hope the film in its totality is a whole lot better than this.

The bottom line in this clip is it appears Jack Ryan (Chris Pine) has been deceived about the type of job he was in for when someone tries to kill him. His boss (Kevin Costner) isn’t exactly rolling out the sympathy wagon either.

This Kenneth Branagh directed…

First ‘Veronica Mars’ Theatrical Trailer

First ‘Veronica Mars’ Theatrical Trailer

Remeber that big kickstarter campaign to fund a Veronica Mars film so that fans could get what they always wanted and stuff? Well, it’s starting to pay off now in the form of the film’s first trailer.

I never watched the show. I’m trying to find time to remedy that now, but I just never did. I think I heard about it a time or two though. And apparently it has more than enough fans that one wonders why it was canceled. At any rate, it appears to have a lot of elements that I love in a show or movie — not the least of which is a good amount of snark.

Veronica Mars opens in AMC theaters and…

‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ Trailer

‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ Trailer

I missed the first one but I hear it was amazing. I suppose I’ll have to find time to watch it because this looks like a film I want to see and it feels like I need to have seen the first one before I see this one.

Here’s the synopsis:

The thrilling second chapter of the epic HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON trilogy brings us back to the fantastical world of Hiccup and Toothless five years after the two have successfully united dragons and vikings on the island of Berk. While Astrid, Snoutlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island’s new favorite contact…

‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Trailer

‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Trailer

I am entirely uncertain where we are with this franchise, or even if I care. I saw the one with Wahlberg and I hated it so much I couldn’t bring myself to watch any since then. Someone tell me in the comments, is that newer one with Franco a complete reboot? And is this one following up on that? Further, should I give this franchise my attention? Is my experience with the Wahlberg film an isolated incident and will I like the newer stuff? So many questions I have need answering.

Well in any event, while I’m waiting to get my questions answered, here’s the trailer for the latest in the…

‘Earth to Echo’ Trailer

‘Earth to Echo’ Trailer

I think this is supposed to be a bit of a modern day E.T. mixed with a bit of Super 8 (which I still haven’t seen, drat, what’s wrong with me!). It’s interesting that we (I) haven’t heard anything about this film until now. There was a time when films were less well known about when audiences went into the theaters to see them — a time when one could go to the theater and watch E.T. and not know a thing about it. That appears to be a little of what director Dave Green wants for his film Earth to Echo.

Of course this film just has to have that “found footage” vibe that I hate so much,…

‘House of Cards’ Season 2 Trailer

‘House of Cards’ Season 2 Trailer

One of the surprise delights of last year was the Netflix original series House of Cards. It was a dark political thriller that followed the antics of villain Frank Underwood as he set his sites on the white house. No one and nothing must stand in his way! Kevin Spacey did a phenomenal job making you love to hate such an evil scumbag. The political climate in our country is pretty ripe for such a show given that no one on either side of the political isle is particularly fond of their politicians. Indeed I think the consensus is that with few exceptions, every single politician currently in…

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ International Trailer

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ International Trailer

“I was cleaning the chimney Aunt May! Honest that’s what I was doing” LOLZ. Come on! Tobey Maquire Spider-Man could come up with better excuses than that on his worst day!

Well, okay maybe he couldn’t but that’s not going to stop me from hating on nuSpidey. This film looks like it’s going to be just as messy, self important, and stupid as the first Amazing Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield is a usurper, that’s all there is to it!

But we might as well get used to the idea of more Amazing Spider-Man because Sony does not seem interested in making a trilogy, or a certain set of films, or whatever.…

‘The Nut Job’ Trailer - An Over the Hedge Wannabe

‘The Nut Job’ Trailer - An Over the Hedge Wannabe

Hey look! It’s kind of like Over the Hedge, but without all the good acting talent or good story behind it. And seriously, what’s with showing the same shot of the squirrel planning the heist like five times? Is this a major selling point of the film? Is there just nothing else to show? Couple a very mediocre trailer with the fact that this film comes out on January 17th of the upcoming new year and I think we can fairly safely assume that this is going to be a fail.

The film boasts voice talent from Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Liam Neeson, Katherine Heigl, and Maya Rudolph. But I don’t…
