‘Fringe’ Season 5 Premiere

‘Fringe’ Season 5 Premiere

Few television shows have captured and excited my imagination the way that Fringe has. Which is why I have really been looking forward to the premiere of this final season.

Recap

This season’s plot line actually began in the 19th episode of season 4 titled Letters of Transit. We were taken completely out of the story line going on in season 4 to get a glimpse of the future. It was kind of brilliant actually. I don’t know much about the politics of running a TV show, but this seems like the sort of thing that can keep your numbers up and get you renewed, or at the very least, as in the…

Jafar from Aladdin

Jafar from Aladdin

In this episode of MovieByte, TJ and Joseph discuss ‘Looper’ and ‘Trouble with the Curve’, two pretty good films. For ‘Looper’ they talk about the relatively low budget and indie nature of the film, the exceptional acting from the three top tier actors, Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Emily Blunt, the pitfalls of time-travel plots and the nature of time-travel films, how could Cid have become The Rainmaker in the first loop and more. For ‘Trouble with the Curve’ they discuss why critics are dissing such a good film, the lack of budget information available about the film, a drama vs. an action film, the humanity of the characters, Eastwood’s grouchy old man schtick, the poor acting of Timberlake, TJ and Joseph disagree on whether John Goodman is a good actor or good in his role in this film, why the film is not a flop and more.

TVLine has obtained casting details regarding the ABC pilot, which is helmed by the Avengers writer/director and based on a peacekeeping group that appeared in both the summer blockbuster and various Marvel comics.

Gun Control PSA from ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Victim
Entertainment Weekly

While attending a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colo. this summer, Stephen Barton was shot in the face and neck. But compared to several other victims, he was lucky; Barton lived, and now he’s working to raise awareness of gun violence. According to his new PSA, 48,000 Americans will be shot and murdered during the next four years — “enough to fill over 200 theaters.” He urges viewers to visit DemandAPlan.org, an organization that’s working to end gun violence. See Barton’s poignant PSA below.

Because we just absolutely have to take a tragedy and make it…

Bruce Willis & John Malkovich - Red 2

Bruce Willis & John Malkovich - Red 2
FilmoFilia.com

2010′s Red was fairly successful, grossing $186.5 million worldwide, so it’s not really a surprise that a sequel, which has just started filming in Canada, was given the greenlight.

Bruce Willis was seen at St Andrew’s United Church in Chateauguay, which was converted into a funeral home for the filming. On the other hand, John Malkovich was only seen walking through the streets of Montreal. Check the pictures out after the jump.

Red was a lot of fun and quite an enjoyable film. I’m looking forward to see what they bring us for Red 2.

‘Taken 2’ Clip

‘Taken 2’ Clip

Joseph has already asked us, why would you mess with Liam Neeson twice? Now it looks like we get to start seeing early looks at those repercussions.

In this clip I really love the use of the grenade explosion to figure out distance and map intersection and cool things like that. For some reason I never saw the first Taken film. Now I think I’m going to need to do that.

Taken 2 is set to open tomorrow.

Lincoln Joins the Presidential Debate

Lincoln Joins the Presidential Debate

Following last night’s presidential debate, a new trailer for Lincoln debuted. With all the bluster and hype, half truths, lies, posturing, double tongued speak, and promises that will be broken associated with the debate, it seems only fitting to debut a new trailer for what is likely a historical revisionism film (hey, Joseph had his say, now I’m having mine…).

Although I was surprised that in this trailer, a part of Lincoln’s highly unconstitutional ways seemed to be showing forth a little, yet I have no doubt that the intention is to cast a positive spin on the whole charade as has…
