So, some film that I know nothing about has taken the top spot at the box office. I gotta get better at this apparently because I literally know nothing about this film except what I have read this morning. The budget might suggest why I haven’t heard of it…

Apparently, not all heroes are super, at least that’s what we’re being told by the marketing team behind Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. What do you guys think?

Personally, I’m really looking forward to this one. It will be good to have something close to Joss Whedon back on TV. It’s a crying shame that Firefly didn’t stay on TV, but on the other hand, would we have The Avengers and consequently, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. if Firefly had made it? Events transpired the way they did and we have what we have. That’s the way things go I guess. I’m really looking forward to this for sure!

With less than a week to go before we get to see Man of Steel in theaters we’re likely to see a lot of teasers, footage, and other promotional material for the film. I’m assuming that Christopher Nolan, as the producer, won’t let anything out there that might be too spoilery, so I’m looking forward to this week’s trickle of teasers and the like, followed by one of the best films of the summer on Friday! My wife and I have our tickets and we’re greatly looking forward to it (don’t let me down Superman!).

According to Emileeid.com, the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will make its debut in theaters with Man of Steel next week. Before that, though, the footage is set to pop up online June 12th at 10am PDT. Word is that this is a full two-minute trailer featuring actual footage from the film and not merely a teaser to let moviegoers know the film is on the way.

Will Smith isn’t too interested in returning to the ‘Men in Black’ series which is unfortunate, but they probably shouldn’t try to make another without him. ‘World War Z’ is coming up and TJ gives a few thoughts on the trailer. Joss Whedon says ‘Avengers 2’ won’t happen with out Robert Downey Jr. so that’s good news. He also talks about ‘Much Ado About Nothing’. And of course, TJ covers what you might like to see this weekend.

There is absolutely nothing new opening this weekend that I want to see. Nothing. I mean seriously, The Internship? That has to be the biggest product placement film in the history of mankind. I mean the film is about Google. No thank you.

Now I should be clear, there is one film opening here and there that I would be interested in seeing, but it’s not a wide release and it’s not in my area so I’m out of luck.
