The group Geeks Out has launched an online protest and is asking people to “Skip Ender’s Game” because of anti-gay marriage comments made by Orson Scott Card, author of the 1985 book upon which the Lionsgate film is based.

“Do not buy a ticket at the theater, do not purchase the DVD, do not watch it on-demand. Ignore all merchandise and toys,” the site implores. “By pledging to Skip Ender’s Game, we can send a clear and serious message to Card and those that do business with his brand of anti-gay activism—whatever he’s selling, we’re not buying.”

Fast And Furious 6 is probably going to be Vin Diesel’s most successful film this year, but that’s not keeping him from staring in another one as well this year. Riddick is a sequel to The Chronicles of Riddick and I’m told that my film knowledge and education is sadly lacking in that I have not seen the first film, so I promise to remedy the situation.

I have to say the concept looks right down my alley, even if it looks like the execution is more about action than story.

Russell Crowe has been receiving a lot of questions from his fans on Twitter asking him if he’d consider reprising his role of Jor-El from Man of Steel in a prequel and the actor says he’s game.

“A lot of you are asking about a KRYPTON prequel, if that’s something you feel strongly about let @Legendary pictures know your thoughts,” he said. He added, in response to someone, “Just getting sick of reading the same question mate, however, if it came up, i’d give the tights another go.”

So, according to a search, I have not yet posted anything about this upcoming film. I’m starting to look forward to it so I need to rectify that. In two weeks, Jeff Bridges — a dead guy — will be rounding up some up some dead, bloodthirsty, and evil spirits who refuse to move into the afterlife. I know, right?

It sounds like a crazy concept, and I was all prepared to congratulate the filmmakers on an original concept. But the Wikipedia entry seems to indicate that the film is based on a comic book so, never mind. Regardless of that though, it does look like a fun, and somewhat more…

I have to admit that I am very partial to the score for Superman the Movie. That said, I also liked Hans Zimmer’s Man of Steel score in some ways and in parts, but on the whole I felt it quite lacking and not up to the same standard of other films that he’s scored. I mean, just listen to those themes back to back and tell me John Williams original isn’t by far the superior, I dare you!

Gather your minions and hide the moon! This weekend Gru is back baby! Of course, also in theaters, Captain Jack Sparrow will be playing an indian named Tonto who aids a ranger, a lone ranger no less, who must wear a mask to serve justice, or some such thing. Whatever, one thing is for sure, the film is not really about the lone ranger or Armie Hammer, it’s about Captain Jack Sparrow! Duh!

I’m not sure whether I’m going to see this or The Long Ranger tonight. They are both equally tied for the “meh” classification in my mind. I saw the first one…

Last week, images of this set leaked and we asked the question ”Is This The ‘Dark Knight’ Trilogy Ultimate Collectors Edition Blu-ray Box Set?” The answer turns out to be…kind of. The official set, seen above, has now been revealed and it shares many features with last week’s images along with a few treats all its own. (Which suggests either those images were an international or preliminary version of the set). The real set is scheduled for release September 24 with an MSRP of $99.97.

I have a confession to make: I am not a fan of the original Wizard of Oz. You know, the beloved classic featuring Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, Jack Haley, Billie Burke, and Margaret Hamilton. Additionally, I do not like 3D films.
