‘Almost Human’ Extended Trailer

‘Almost Human’ Extended Trailer

For those who, like me, won’t catch the part one of the pilot until tonight via Hulu, you are probably still quite interested in this trailer. The pilot is a two parter and part one debuted last night on broadcast TV. I have neither the time nor the inclination to make sure I’m in front of my TV at any set time. Hulu (or some service like it) is the future, and that’s the way I watch TV. At this time the (stupid) powers that be have decreed that Hulu must be delayed by a day. So I wait one day. I’ll be catching the pilot tonight and I am really looking forward tot his one!

I can tell you…

Super Smash Wars

Super Smash Wars

Oh my goodness I’m such a nerd! I have found the most awesomely ridiculous (or ridiculously awesome) thing in possibly this whole galaxy, or a galaxy far far away, or really the whole universe. If you love movies, video games (particularly older video games), and Star Wars you are really going to love this. Prepare to be knocked into light speed!

Latest Trailer for ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’

Latest Trailer for ‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’

This trailer is set to a bit more, shall we say contemporary beat? than what we have previously seen for this film. I reckon they’re probably having a little bit of a hard time getting interest in this film and maybe some upbeat music will help. Well I’m guessing that’s what the thinking on this is anyway.

I am looking forward to it but I don’t think it’s coming to Nashville for a while. It’s going to a very limited release starting on November 29th and doesn’t go to a wide release until Christmas — which is just annoying. Whatever. I’ll watch it whenever I can finally see it.

‘The Four Players’ - A Gritty Take on the Mario Bros.

‘The Four Players’ - A Gritty Take on the Mario Bros.

For The Fixer I alternated between geeky wonderment, and snorting with laughter. I mean seriously, I couldn’t make up my mind. I mean, Mario and Luigi are fantasy characters in a fantasy world that is mostly just food fun. And these two short films (soon to be four) take themselves soooo seriously, and yet they are completely ludicrous.

These short films are written and directed by Evan Daugherty Snow White and the Huntsman, Divergent, and the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (we’ll try not to hold that against him).

In these first two films we meet up with Marion in the first, and…

R2-D2 CONFIRMED FOR STAR WARS VII YOU GUYS!!!!!

R2-D2 CONFIRMED FOR STAR WARS VII YOU GUYS!!!!!

Yeah okay, so I’m being somewhat tongue in cheek with my headline. Which one of you would have actually thought that R2-D2 would not be in the new film. I mean it’s pretty much a given. But at least we can say, yep, it’s a given. That’s because JJ Abrams tweeted out a photo of him standing with the awesome little droid.

It’s not earth shattering or anything but it’s still fun. They’re actually making new Star Wars kind of fun. And hopefully it’s going to be better than those awful prequel things that we don’t acknowledge the existence of.

When Life Robs You, Rob it Back - What To See This Weekend

When Life Robs You, Rob it Back - What To See This Weekend

Only one new film I’m interested in this weekend, but it looks like a great one! I am of course speaking about The Book Thief. The problem is, it’s in limited release. Somehow I missed this bit of info until just now when I was looking stuff up.

New This Weekend

The Book Thief - PG-13

This looks extremely good. There’s no doubt that the filmmakers certainly had their eyes on an Oscar in this film, and if the trailers are any indication I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t get very close. While this film can certainly be classified as a WWII film given the subject matter, this does not look…

Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’ First Trailers

Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’ First Trailers

Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, and Anthony Hopkins are teaming together to tell us the biblical story of Noah and his ark building adventure.

As a Bible believing Christian, I am particularly interested in what they are doing here. It certainly looks like they are taking a lot of liberties with what actually happened. But then, there’s not a whole lot of extra info in the text about what happened. We’re told that men were evil, God told Noah to build an ark, and the flood was sent. So there’s going to be a lot of reading between the lines here for a feature length film. And I…

‘Divergent’ Theatrical Trailer

‘Divergent’ Theatrical Trailer

We’ve already talked about how you should probably run for your lives and not watch this because it’s a Young Adult film adaptation and I like it. My track record isn’t spotless here (*cough*CityofBones*cought*). That said, I do think this has some potential to be interesting.

This film is based on the book by Veronica Roth and I admitedly know nothing about it. It has a long list of semi-known and unknown stars such as Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Theo James, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Jai Courtney, Zoe Kravitz, Ray Stevenson, and Ashley Judd.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Divergent” is…

Thor Credits Tease Sets up Guardians of the Galaxy Stuff

Thor Credits Tease Sets up Guardians of the Galaxy Stuff
Germain Lussier interview with Kevin Feige

And there’s the first tease at the end of the movie is obviously Guardians, but it also, with the infinity stone, seems to set up some Phase 3 stuff. Is that safe to say?

Yeah. I mean we have… We are always sort of building towards additional things and what’s fun about that reveal for fans and for fans of comics and fans of movies is I think that’s the first time that we reveal that The Tesarac is an infinity stone, that the aether is an infinity stone. You may see another infinity stone in Guardians and certainly fans of the comics know what one can do with all of those stones if, god…

‘Mission Impossible 5’ Releases Christmas Day 2015

‘Mission Impossible 5’ Releases Christmas Day 2015
Edward Davis - The Playlist.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to pay for the fifth time to see the further adventure installments of Ethan Hunt. Yep, Paramount has set a date for “Mission Impossible 5,” which is now scheduled for a Christmas 2015 release. Currently, its only direct competition is Ben Affleck’s directorial effort, “They Live By Night,” but of course, “Star Wars: Episode VII,” opens the weekend before and will presumably be a box-office juggernaut for at least a few weeks afterwards (everyone thus assumes the same-day-dated Duncan Jones’ “Warcraft” is probably going to have to move to…
