I am not hearing good things about this new film from M. Night Shyamalan, which is not really surprising. He used to make a few good films but his efforts lately have been… shall we say lackluster? I’m still reserving judgment and…

At this point it’s no secret that Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) will be making an appearance in this summer’s Hugh Jackman reboot “The Wolverine.” What remains less clear is what role, exactly, the seemingly-deceased mutant will be playing in the story.

Director James Mangold sort of answers that question in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly (via the Playlist), in which he tells the magazine that Grey will be a “shadow presence” who “pops up to mock, comfort and advise Logan much as Number 6 tortured Gaius Baltar on ‘Battlestar Galactica.’”

The company has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by a man who claims that he came up with numerous elements of the hugely successful “Pirates” film series, including characters, supernatural elements, storylines, plots, themes, sequence structures and screenplay elements, according to court documents obtained by TheWrap.

In the suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Florida on Tuesday, Florida resident Royce Mathew claims that Disney infringed on a story that Mathew had written, and fraudulently procured a settlement from him when a previous lawsuit was filed.

We’re not far away now, but the studio and producers keep dropping little bits of new scenes from the film. I wonder how much of the film we could cut together from everything that’s been released so far?

Well in any event, you’re going to want to have a look at this if you looking forward to this film as I am. Lots of goodies here, as usually lots of glimpses at the film footage that we have already seen, and some that we have not.

The chase for more info about a film before it’s release, and yet trying to keep from being spoiled by the big reveals is always lots of fun!

Man this is SOOO good. I loved Iron Man 3, but it was definitely full of annoying logical inconsistencies, which the guys behind HISHE thrive on. And I love how Batman and Superman are always showing up in these now.

Of course, I imagine it wouldn’t matter what film it was, if it was the 5th most successful movie of all time, as Iron Man 3 now is, people would be making fun of it. Some people have a problem with videos like this but I love them. I have more of a problem with the Cinema Sins videos, but these HISHE videos have always been great thus…

In this episode TJ and Joe start out with a little follow up about Alice Eve as Carol Marcus in her underwear and why TJ wrote his article on the subject. Kayla over at TrekMovie.com also felt the same way. Then there’s the ‘Byzantium’ trailer which neither Joe nor TJ are thrilled about as it’s yet another vampire movie. But TJ did find out that Tom Cruise was in a vampire movie once. Who knew? Saoirse Ronan wants to play The Scarlet Witch in the upcoming ‘Avengers 2’, and Joss Whedon has confirmed that that character is in the upcoming film. And will Sony sell the rights to ‘Spider-Man’? Also, you probably should not throw someone’s phone across the room, even if they are texting in the theater and being rude. And of course, there’s an ‘Epic’ review this week (pun intended).

The directors of the Oscar-nominated Kon-Tiki are directing the next Pirates of the Caribbean film. Norwegian directing team Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg will soon sign to helm Pirates of the Caribbean 5, starring Johnny Depp, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and written by Jeff Nathanson.

Sigh. Well, I guess we’re going to do this. I guess this is really happening. I guess the pencil pushers think they can squeeze a few jillion more dollars out of Johnny Depp.

Franchise fatigue anyone?

Yeah, I know I never published the first trailer. I actually thought I did, but I searched through the archives and couldn’t find it.

This is following up on the first film installment based on the book series. Though I am not particularly negative about the film(s) or anything, it failed to sufficiently capture my interest such that I would bother to see the film. And at the time the first film came out, I did not have a movie website or a big enough movie going budget, so I therefore did not see the first film. I probably need to play a little bit of catch up so I’ll be ready to see…
