‘Captain America 2’ - No Stanley Tucci, Yes Hayley Atwell

‘Captain America 2’ - No Stanley Tucci, Yes Hayley Atwell
/Film

Despite the seven-decade leap between Captain America: The First Avenger andCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, there are a few stars from the former set to reprise their roles in the latter. That group includes Chris Evans as the title character, obviously, along with Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and Toby Jones as Arnim Zola. It won’t, however, include Stanley Tucci, who revealed in a recent interview that his character Dr. Abraham Erskine won’t be in the sequel.

But contrary to previous reports, Tucci claims that Cap’s former flame Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will make an…

Identity Thief — Review

1.5 of 5 stars
Identity Thief

Identity thief suffers from a fundamental flaw. On the one hand, it wants to be a funny and non-serious film full of slapstick humor and cartoony violence that would hospitalize real world people. On the other hand it wants to be taken as a serious drama at other points of the film. While this has been done before, and has even worked for some films, it fails miserably here. Doing a film in the manner I have described, like having your cake and eating it too, is very tricky business.

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

Diana (Melissa McCarthy) is established as the identity thief here, she’s…

‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ Clip

‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ Clip

Following up on the new trailer, this clip from Bryan Singer’s upcoming Jack the Giant Slayer has surfaced featuring Ewan McGregor and Ian McShane.

“So what did you find out up there? Do these giants have any weaknesses?” bellows Ian McShane. “Not many, no,” replies Ewan McGregor.

Should be fun at the very least.

New ‘Oblivion’ Trailer

New ‘Oblivion’ Trailer

This film is looking pretty awesome to me! What is it about Sci-Fi and Tom Cruise? Who cares because I’m totally going to be be seeing this on opening night.

Oblivion is brought to us by the same director who brought us the awesome Tron: Legacy which gives me high hopes for this film. I know having high hopes is a recipe for disappointment, but I can hardly help it, especially with the trailers looking this good. I love me some good sci-fi.

‘Monsters University’ Clip

‘Monsters University’ Clip

Here’s a conversation on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with John Goodman, and a clip for the upcoming Monsters University. We’ve seen parts of the clip in the trailer, but this is an entire sequence in which Sully and Mike meet for the first time at college. I don’t think Mike was super happy to make Sully’s acquaintance. The meeting could have gone better for sure.

‘Die Hard’ “Big Ole Bird” Clip

‘Die Hard’ “Big Ole Bird” Clip

We’re here! The time has come. A Good Day to Die Hard comes out tomorrow. With that in mind, we’ve got a sneak peek clip right here for you to gander at. I’m not quite sure what the angle is here jumping out of the window and all, looks like a good way to die to me. But given that John McClane doesn’t simply die, well I’m guessing that’s unlikely.

I hope the Russians are ready to have their butts kicked tomorrow!

On Health, Home, and Happiness

‘Silver Linings Playbook’ walks the genre tightrope in an exemplary fashion, defying its category of Romantic Comedy. Many times over ‘Silver Linings’ takes the viewer by surprise. It proves that not all Rom Coms need to be formulaic to be successful. From The Daily Grind in Marietta, GA, over some french roast and blueberry scones, Eric and Michael explore what makes a great romance story work.

Bryan Singer Talks ‘Man of Steel’

Bryan Singer Talks ‘Man of Steel’
TotalFilm

Bryan Singer recently spoke to Total Film about Jack The Giant Slayer (look out for that in a future issue), and we found time to ask him about his feelings towards Superman.

Was he disappointed that he didn’t get the chance to carry on his own franchise with sequel Man Of Steel after his own reboot, Superman Returns?

“If this was a few year ago, I might have [felt disappointed] - but so much time has passed. I’ve done two movies [since Superman Returns], I’ll be on my third movie now in the [X-Men] universe… so whilst it would have been nice then, now I’m actually genuinely…
