Michael Westen “Back from the Dead”

Michael Westen “Back from the Dead”
TV Line

When Season 6 left off, Michael & Co. had trekked to Panama to track Tyler Grey, the sniper who’d been hired to kill Nate Westen — only to realize, too late, that they’d all been led by Tom Card into a trap. Amazingly, and in one of the series’ most explode-y sequences ever, Michael, Sam, Jesse, Fi and Tyler survived Card’s attempt to do ‘em all in with an F-18′s bombing run.

Card, though, doesn’t know they escaped, and Michael’s living, breathing status may give him the upper hand with his fallen mentor and finding out why good people still want him dead.

One of TVs best shows,…

‘Fire with Fire’

‘Fire with Fire’
Entertainment Weekly

Duhamel, as firefighter Jeremy Coleman, is in the wrong place at the wrong time, and sees a hulking psychopath – D’Onofrio – shoot and kill someone in a convenience store. Duhamel picks the brute out of a police lineup, and a classic game of cat-and-mouse ensues. He goes into witness protection, his identity is erased, he becomes “a ghost,” and Rosario Dawson shows him how to shoot a big big gun.

This looks like it could be interesting. On the other hand, this is a straight-to-DVD movie so I’m not sure what that says about it. Still, I may check it out sometime.

‘Wreck-It Ralph’ — First True Gamer Movie

‘Wreck-It Ralph’ — First True Gamer Movie
Movie Line

Everyone is either looking forward to Wreck-It Ralph or still refers to video games as “those beeping boximacallits.”  There are no other options. Gaming movies have a bad reputation, which is weird, because, despite what you may have heard and read, they have yet to materialize. We’ve seen dozens of action movies that share the titles of video games and little else, and run from reprehensible to ridiculously profitable — sometimes in the same series. We’ve also watched feature-length advertisements for video games that we’ve paid to see in hopes that there might be a movie in there…

‘Cloud Atlas’ TV Spot, IMAX Release

‘Cloud Atlas’ TV Spot, IMAX Release

Cloud Atlas has sounded like a huge and ambitious undertaking from the first time I heard about it, and now it looks like it will be getting the big screen IMAX treatment.

The film was not originally intended for IMAX release and so was shot on standard 35 mm film. The IMAX website notes that it has been digitally remastered into the IMAX format. IMAX looked pretty good on the much older Raiders of the Lost Ark so I’m guessing this film will still look awesome on IMAX even though it was only shot on 35.

Warner Bros. has also released a new TV spot which shows a lot less of the of the…

Samuel Jackson Summer Flop Loses $12 Million

Samuel Jackson Summer Flop Loses $12 Million

Samuel Jackson and Tom Wilkinson should make for an entertaining movie, wouldn’t you agree? I thought so when I saw that Redbox has a new DVD release starring these two in a crime/action film.

The description of The Samaritan from Rotten Tomatoes:

After twenty‐five years in prison, Foley (Samuel L. Jackson) is finished with the grifter’s life. When he meets an elusive young woman named Iris (Ruth Negga), the possibility of a new start looks real. But his past is proving to be a stubborn companion: Ethan (Luke Kirby), the son of his former partner, has an ingenious plan and he wants…

New Poster for ‘The Hobbit’

New Poster for ‘The Hobbit’

A new poster for The Hobbit is making the rounds, and I don’t know about you, but it tends to remind me of posters from the previous trilogy. This is not a bad thing though, making the tie and connection to The Lord of the Rings trilogy given my initial feelings about The Hobbit were not good, but I love The Lord of the Rings.

I do have to say I’m getting excited for this film in spite of myself. I really hope I’m not disappointed.

Here’s the new poster:

And for comparison, here’s a couple from the Lord of the Rings trilogy:

Excited for LooperYou should beRian Johnson‘s return to the big screen featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano and a whole bunch of time-travelling awesomeness is fantastic. Lots of new posters, videos and more have been popping up leading up towards the September 28 release and now two videos of behind the scenes footage have come online.

Getting geared up! Beware there are probably some spoilers here if you are looking for them. I just loved watching the behind the scenes footage and didn’t really see anything that was plot revealing to…

‘The Wolverine’ First Official Image

‘The Wolverine’ First Official Image
Slash Film

If you’ve been successfully avoiding spy photos from the southeast Asian set of James Mangold‘s The Wolverine, you’ve about to be rewarded with claws and veins. 20th Century Fox has released the first official image from the X-Men side story starring Hugh Jackman as the adamantium laced badass. It’s scheduled for release July 26, 2013, check out the image below.

I’m a big fan of the first two X-Men films. The third was pretty bad, obviously not anywhere near the level of the first two. And for a while I was not interested in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, or X-Men: First Class. Having…
