Hayley Atwell in Captain America 2?

Hayley Atwell in Captain America 2?
Bleeding Cool

When Hannah asked if she’d be back to reprise the role of Peggy Carter, maybe even take on the next-gen guise of Sharon Carter, Ms. Atwell couldn’t manage even a proper non-denial denial, but she did say:

“I can’t say yet because it hasn’t been officially released, and Marvel are very protective of their franchise.

Which, according to the Bleeding Cool Translatatron, means she’ll be back. Probably.

Flashbacks? Or something more? The first movie was so good. But part of what made it good was the Captain’s relationship with Carter so it’s going to be interesting to see what they do…

‘The Oogieloves’ Bombs at the box office

‘The Oogieloves’ Bombs at the box office
Entertainment Weekly

After its inauspicious opening Wednesday, when the bizarre kiddie flick The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure earned a shockingly low $47 average at each theater, it looked like it could be headed for the worst opening weekend of all time for a film playing in over 2,000 theaters.

Well, it happened.

According to studio estimates, the colorful toddler-targeting entry, which is being distributed by Kenn Viselman Presents (Viselman formerly found massive success as producer of The Teletubbies), earned a truly awful $448,131 from 2,160 theaters in its debut three-day weekend.

That…

Chris Pine Talks ‘Star Trek’ Sequel
TrekNews.net

”I probably feel the stakes are a bit bigger.” Pine admitted. “The first one, we didn’t have much to lose, because we didn’t have much to lose! It was either going to be a great big hot and surprise everybody, or it was going to fall the down the drain and no one would’ve thought twice about it.”

‘Hansel and Gretel’

‘Hansel and Gretel’
Slash Film

Last year Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton starred as adult versions of Hansel and Gretel in a film called Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, directed by Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow). The movie has been delayed a couple times, but is finally set to open in January, thanks to Jeremy Renner’s increased profile post-Avengers and Bourne.

The first trailer for the movie has been released, and it looks a little bit like Army of Darkness, and a little bit like the old Japanese action/comedy/splatterfest Versus, thanks to the fact that much of the action takes place in nondescript forests. And then,…

Bones Season 8 Promo

Bones Season 8 Promo
TV Fanatic

A new promo for the upcoming season premiere of Bones offers some new clips and clues as to what’s to come. Like the first Bones Season 8 promo, it also shows us plenty of blonde Brennan.

This show has come dangerously close to jumping the shark more than once and its longevity is something of a mixed bag as far as I’m concerned. Still, it is one of the better shows on TV and I’ll happily…

Why Johnny Can’t Stream

Why Johnny Can’t Stream
Ars Technica

Suppose I could offer you a choice of two technologies for watching TV online. Behind Door Number One sits a free-to-watch service that uses off-the-shelf technology and that buffers just enough of each show to put the live stream on the Internet. Behind Door Number Two lies a subscription service that requires custom-designed hardware and makes dozens of copies of each show. Which sounds easier to build—and to use? More importantly, which is more likely to be legal?

If you went with Door Number One, then you are a sane person, untainted by the depravity of modern copyright law. But you…
