Idina Menzel Sings “Let It Go” with Jimmy Fallon & The Roots

Idina Menzel Sings “Let It Go” with Jimmy Fallon & The Roots

You read my post earlier about how much I love Frozen, right? Well, what I didn’t say is this:

I’m sick of “Let It Go.”

Great song? For sure. Deserving of the Academy Award for Best Original Song? Totally. Idina Menzel sings it beautifully? Oh yeah.

But it has been so ridiculously overplayed over the past few months that I’m ready to just Let. It. Go. (I went there!) Despite all of that, I was so excited to hear Menzel perform it live on the Oscars this past Sunday, but I was incredibly underwhelmed, partially because I’m still tired of the song and partially because she didn’t sing it…

Harrison Ford Begs Agents To Just Let Him Die Now

Harrison Ford Begs Agents To Just Let Him Die Now
The Onion

LOS ANGELES—Saying that “it’s time,” a visibly weary Harrison Ford pleaded with his agents Thursday to simply stop this and let him die, sources confirmed. “Please, you’ve had your fill. Just let me go quietly into the night,” the 71-year-old Ender’s Game star reportedly said, later imploring his agents not to hand him any more scripts and to just “let [him] go to sleep forever.”

Hahahahah, this is awesome!

Watch Ellen Degeneres Opening Oscars Bit

Watch Ellen Degeneres Opening Oscars Bit

As usual, I’m too busy with Church and family for The Oscars. Maybe one year I’ll watch but I’m really just much more interested in finding out whot he winners are after the fact. Kind of strange for a guy who likes movies I know, but I would just rather watch the movies.

But I did enjoy watching Ellen DeGeneres opening bit. Seth McFarlane hosted last year and while he was not universally hated, many think that he was way too low class. The universal opinion is that DeGeneres had much more class, but was not overly stuffy. This can be proved by her opening bit which poked fun an pretty much…

‘Minecraft’ Film Adaptation to be Developed by WB

‘Minecraft’ Film Adaptation to be Developed by WB
Adam Chitwood — Collider

I discovered Minecraft sometime last year and went through quite a long period of time of being addicted to what appears on the surface to be a rather simple game. For those of you out there who have given the survival/creation game a try know exactly what I’m talking about.

Now what if I told you that the game was being adapted into a film?

That’s right! Collider reports that Warner Bros. has acquired the film rights to this popular video game, hot off the success of the very successful The LEGO Movie.

Indeed, Deadline reports that Warner Bros. has tapped LEGO Movie co-producer Roy Lee…

Benedict Cumberbatch Performs for Smaug

Benedict Cumberbatch Performs for Smaug

As with the first Hobbit film, I found the CGI in the second film to often be hit or miss. Some of it was best in class, and some of it was pretty terrible. This is a great disapointment in the wake of some of the best CGI work we’ve ever seen in the preceeding Lord of the Rings films.

But one element that was best in class was, indeed, the very dragon who’s name made it into the title of the film. Smaug’s execution as a CGI creation is nothing short of stunning. It really was, to me, as if they had found this creature in reality and filmed him so real was he on the screen. Therefore getting…

‘300’ — The Honest Trailer

‘300’ — The Honest Trailer

So there are the Honest Trailers that make fun of a perfectly fine film and you get a few laughs out of it. Then there are the Honest Trailers that make fun of films you enjoyed but hit entirely too close to home, and you laugh your guts out the whole time, but somewhat nervously. I think this one definitely falls in the later category.

Have a look:

‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Featurette

‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Featurette

I had this in my saved items to post to MovieByte at some point but never got around to it. Then one of our fans on Facebook reminded me of it so I moved it to the top of the queue after watching it again. Even though it’s a couple weeks old it’s definitely worth checking out for some more information, some cast interviews, and some behind the scenes looks at our next upcoming Marvel film.

I’m really liking the look of this one.

‘Heroes Reborn’

‘Heroes Reborn’
Brian Anthony Hernandez — Mashable

NBC is reviving Heroes, Tim Kring’s popular sci-fi TV drama about people with superhuman abilities, as a miniseries in 2015. The network revealed the comeback Saturday night, saying it has ordered 13 episodes “for a new standalone story arc” called Heroes Reborn.

Before the show debuts on TV in 2015, NBC plans to launch a digital series to introduce the plot and characters. No cast members have been announced, though some may end up being from the original series’ four seasons, which aired from 2006 to 2010.

Yes please!

The show faltered here and there throughout it’s original four…

Meet The Characters of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Meet The Characters of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Well, speaking of Guardians of the Galaxy, would you like to meet each of your protagonists? We don’t have much, but there is a thirty second clip for each of the primary protagonists that may help just slightly for those of you, again, like me who don’t really know a whole lot yet. So these should at least help a little as you try to get up to speed before the film arrives on August 1st.

What is ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

What is ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

If, like me, you really don’t know much about Guardians of the Galaxy, Hal Rudnick and Co. have some great conversation on the subject for you. I found it fun and informative as someone who has no clue what this franchise even is.

The trailer, while a little strange — I mean really, a talking, gun weilding racoon, I’m supposed to take this seriously? — my curiosity has definitely been arroused and I’m excited to see what Marvel has in store for us!
