Jimmy Olsen is… A Girl?

Jimmy Olsen is… A Girl?
/Film

Comic Book Movie noticed that IMDb lists Buller as playing a character named “Jenny Olsen,” with no listing for Jimmy Olsen in sight. IMDb isn’t always 100% accurate, but they get things right more often than not. Supporting this theory is a scene from the latest trailer, which shows Buller running away from an explosion with Laurence Fishburne, who plays Perry White. If this woman isn’t Man of Steel‘s Jimmy Olsen replacement, she seems at least to be a Daily Planet staffer of some sort.

Well, that’s sort of an interesting development. I’m not sure how I feel about that. But then, while…

‘Revolution’ Casts a President

‘Revolution’ Casts a President
TV Line

[Leslie] Hope, recently seen as a regular on ABC’s short-lived thriller The River, will play President Foster, the tough, seasoned leader of the powerful Georgia Federation who may just be the key to the revolution taking hold.

LIttle bitty little scoop, but still fun none the less for those of us who are loving Revolution. I definitely want to know more about the Georgia Federation. I also want to see Miles more invested in the revolution of the rebels. Time will tell what we see.

Revolution resumes it’s first season on March 25.

Let’s take another look at Chris Pine who plays Jack Ryan in an upcoming Kenneth Branagh‘s action thriller! Well, to be honest, it’s not all about Pine (and his bike) this time, ’cause we also have another look at Kevin Costner‘s William Harper & we (finally) have a chance to check out Keira Knightley who plays Cathy Ryan in the whole thing! Make sure you check out these images in the rest of this report & let us know what you think!

Yeah, yeah, I know it’s just images of actors on set. But I’m sort of excited about this upcoming film, and in the absense of any other news about it, this…

John McTiernan (Die Hard Director) Headed to Prison

John McTiernan (Die Hard Director) Headed to Prison
The Hollywood Reporter

John McTiernan, who directed such hit movies as Die Hard and The Hunt for Red October, will likely soon be headed to federal prison in connection with his role in the Anthony Pellicano wiretapping scandal.

McTiernan was sentenced in late 2010 to one year in prison and a fine of $100,000 after pleading guilty to making false statements to the FBI in its investigation into the activities of Pellicano, the former Hollywood private detective who already is behind bars.

Huh, I had no idea this was even going on until now. Perhaps I’ve been under a rock somewhere? Am I the only one who…

‘Jack Reacher’ Sequel Unlikely

‘Jack Reacher’ Sequel Unlikely
Total Film

The film opened promisingly enough to a $15m opening weekend, but has only managed to hit $70m in the domestic market, a total that doesn’t look sufficient to persuade Paramount to fund round two.

The film’s global gross stands at a more healthy $153m, although according to The Hollywood Reporter the studio is thought to want that figure to reach $250m before it will countenance giving a sequel the green light.

Well that’s too bad. I would not have been sad to see more. I liked it more than I disliked it.

‘Die Hard’ Theater Run

‘Die Hard’ Theater Run

When we first met John McClane in 1988, he was just an everyman cop trying to help his wife and her colleagues out of an office building. But oh, how things have changed. Each installment of the Die Hard franchise has gone bigger than the last, and number five, A Good Day to Die Hard, is no exception. McClane travels to Russia not only to save his son, but, apparently, to defend democracy itself.

In real life, we saw that progression unfold over two and a half decades. But next month, you can relive it in just a matter of hours. Fox has announced that it will bring all four previous…

‘Pirates 5’ In Production

‘Pirates 5’ In Production
FilmoFilia

Just a quick update for all rum-lovers out there: Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is definitely coming, and Jeff Nathanson will be penning the script for the fifth movie! In case you’re not so familiar with Nathanson’s work, let us right here remind you that this guy is responsible for Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can and The Terminal as well. Guess that should be enough for the beginning?

Unfortunately, that’s basically all we know about this project. At this moment – no director is attached to the project, plot details are still unknown, and, beside Johnny Depp (who is definitely set to…

‘Die Hard 5’ Headed for “R” Rating

‘Die Hard 5’ Headed for “R” Rating
/Film

The Die Hard films are known for a couple things, but one of the prime characteristics of the first three films was the foul mouth of hero John McClane. The guy can’t go three scenes without dropping a few f-bombs. Until the fourth film, Live Free or Die Hard, that is. That one came in with a PG-13 rating, and the necessary change in language was one reason the film didn’t feel much like a Die Hard movie. Bruce Willis was in it, but he was playing some guy other than John McClane.

Now we’ve got a reliable source that says the fifth picture, February’s A Good Day to Die Hard, is likely to…

‘Jurassic Park IV’ Releases June of 2014

‘Jurassic Park IV’ Releases June of 2014
IGN.com

Universal announced today that it has slated Jurassic Park IV for a June 13, 2014 release.

Right now it only looks like Steven Spielberg will produce JPIV, although as Variety notes the director’s recent postponement of Robopocalypse raises an interesting possibility: “Spielberg has not committed to another film but given that Jurassic Park 4 is now the fast track, its not out of the question that he would step back in the directors chair.”
