After The Wrap here in about an hour, MovieByte will officially be on Christmas hiatus until the day after Christmas. It’s hard running a website by myself, and I’ve got a lot of work to wrap up, packing, traveling, spending time with family — you know, all that good holiday stuff. Here it is guys. This is the responsive redesign I’ve been talking about for a couple months. There is very little code reuse from the previous design. I’ve re-factored or re-wrote pretty much every line of code.

There were two primary focuses with this redesign:

1. Fully responsive, mobile first design
2. More modern, less heavy design

I was born and grew up in the 1990s, which means that I was a child during the time period when Disney produced its most successful animated musicals, often referred to as the “Disney Renaissance” and featuring such renowned films as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast (my review), Aladdin, and The Lion King. Guys I’m very sorry. You might have taken notice that I mentioned I was sick. Actually, I cannot remember the last time I was this sick. So I’m blaming my mistake on my delirium. This is actually Frozen‘s 3rd week and it’s made $190 Million to date. So my analysis of The Box Office and Frozen in this article yesterday was way off.

I was planning to see Frozen and talk about it with Chad on The MovieByte Podcast tonight, but I am running a high temperature and don’t have a voice. I have no idea if/when I’ll get to see Frozen. Very sorry about my mistake.

Sorry guys. Just a quick note to let you know what was going on. I was not feeling great last night when Chad and I were planning to record, and I have a big deadline at work so I needed to get rested up. This is just a quick note to let you know that there will not be a show tonight. Some unexpected things came up. But, we will be doing a show this week. Tomorrow in fact. Joe Darnell will join me once again to talk about Prisoners. As always it should be lots of fun! So make plans to join us for the live broadcast Thursday evening at 7:00 PM Central. I thought Prisoners was a good film, but as Joe hasn’t seen it yet, I don’t know what his opinion will be. You never know, he might hate it… either way, it will make for some great conversation.

As the September 24 start date of ABC’s new superhero series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.looms, we are increasingly worried about our poor ring fingers. Meaning, do we have to type all those periods every time we write the title of this show?

We’re inclined to say no, to be obstinate in the face of authority. We’re looking forward to Joss Whedon’s new series as much as any dweeb, and have dutifully, painstakingly used the extreme punctuation used in all the marketing materials. Tonight, Joe will reunite with me on the podcast for the first time since… oh, I don’t remember and I’m too lazy to look it up.
