What is ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

What is ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

If, like me, you really don’t know much about Guardians of the Galaxy, Hal Rudnick and Co. have some great conversation on the subject for you. I found it fun and informative as someone who has no clue what this franchise even is.

The trailer, while a little strange — I mean really, a talking, gun weilding racoon, I’m supposed to take this seriously? — my curiosity has definitely been arroused and I’m excited to see what Marvel has in store for us!

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Announced for May 27, 2016

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Announced for May 27, 2016
Kevin Jagernauth — The Playlist

“X-Men: Apocalypse” will hit theaters on May 27, 2016, thus kicking off over two years of rumors, speculation and more even before ‘DOFP’ has hit theaters. Hooray? No word on who will direct, but with Bryan Singer getting in on the announcement action it’s probably safe to say he’ll be at least producing if not more.

I’m just excited that there’s an announcement for a film that is not in 2015! WooHoo!

And too, I’m incredibly excited for any X-Men films that Bryan Singer is involved with. My wife ventured out on Black Friday because there was some stuff she needed and she wanted to get…

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen Officially in ‘Avengers 2’

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen Officially in ‘Avengers 2’
Marvel.com

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen have officially joined the Avengers family as the brother-sister duo of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the highly-anticipated sequel to 2012’s smash-hit “Marvel’s The Avengers”! “Avengers: Age of Ultron” arrives in theaters May 1, 2015.

These characters, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, probably mean something more to those of you who are more of the comic book geek types than me. While I am a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I know literally nothing else about The Marvel world. But I’m sure that they’re…

‘The Wolverine’ Extended Cut Features Blood and Language

‘The Wolverine’ Extended Cut Features Blood and Language
Russ Fischer - /Film

The following obviously contains spoilers for The Wolverine.

The biggest addition, which accounts for many of the extra twelve minutes in this version, is an extra segment that takes place at the beginning of the ninja encounter that opens the movie’s final sequence. It features a lot of blood, in big washes, thanks to dastardly use of a snow-grinding machine. This sequence seems to have been shot with the knowledge it could end up cut from the final edit, as there are easily discernible “in” and “out” points that don’t tie it too firmly to the action that bookends the fight. I’d also wager…

‘Fantastic Four’ Begins Filming in March

‘Fantastic Four’ Begins Filming in March
Mark Julian - ComicBookMovie.com

According to ComingSoon.net, Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot will begin filming in Baton Rouge this March. Originally, the film was scheduled to begin shooting this past June in Vancouver. Recently, the film had its release date pushed back to June 19th, 2015 from its original release of March 6, 2015. There’s quite a bit of speculation that the push was to accommodate Michael B. Jordan’s filming schedule. It’s said that he’s director Josh Trank’s only choice for the Johnny Storm aka Human Torch. Miles Teller is said to be the frontrunner for Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic. There have been…

Thor: The Dark World — Review

4 of 5 stars
Thor: The Dark World

Am I truly desperate? Not really. Am I mad? Possbily. But I liked Thor: The Dark World quite a lot. The film is not without its share of flaws which I shall address, but this film certainly manages to strike a much better note than did it’s predecessor, simply titled Thor. However few critics seem to keep my company on this opinion — well, at least few share my opinion that Thor was not a great film. Indeed, the Tomatometer for Thor sits at 77% while the Tomatometer for Thor: The Dark World sits at only 65% as of this writing.

Story

In short, Thor has been busy restoring order to the nine…

Lex Luthor Confirmed for ‘Batman Vs. Superman’?

Lex Luthor Confirmed for ‘Batman Vs. Superman’?
Kevin Jagernauth — The Playlist

Firstly, Lex Luthor was basically confirmed as the villain for the “Man Of Steel” followup, which everyone sorta figured anyway. Of course, the character had been rumored to make a brief appearance in “Man Of Steel” (which obviously didn’t happen) while the trailer and movie had a few nods to LexCorp if you kept your eyes open and on the look for them. “At its core, Superman is an alien. He comes from an alien world … Lex loves to call him an alien,” Zack Snyder said, to which host Smith countered, “That’s a spoiler, folks.”

Not that I care too much, but I figured you guys might. I’m not…

About Loki in ‘Thor: The Dark World’

About Loki in ‘Thor: The Dark World’
Germain Lussier - /Film

We’re obviously going into spoilers here so please be aware!

This article contains major spoilers for Thor: The Dark World.

One of the best things about Thor: The Dark World is it leaves many intriguing unanswered questions. The biggest one involves the ripple effect of the mid-credits scene, which we’ll discuss shortly. But there’s also the fate of Loki. As you know if you’ve seen the film, there’s no real definitive answer as to Loki’s intentions at the end. To get an answer, I went to the source (or sources): Tom Hiddleston, director Alan Taylor and Marvel President Kevin Feige. I asked…

Bryan Singer Breaks Down the ‘Days of Future Past’ Trailer for us

Bryan Singer Breaks Down the ‘Days of Future Past’ Trailer for us
Angie Han - /Film

There was a lot to absorb in that first trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Original trilogy X-Men were bumping up against First Class X-Men, new characters were showing up left and right, and the emotional arc was cresting just as action and mayhem broke out in both timelines.

Fortunately, director Bryan Singer is happy to guide fans through that jam-packed promo. “It really is what we wanted from the first look at the movie,” he said. Hit the jump for his commentary on some key moments.

Really looking forward to this film and so loving every minute of this! Great stuff, go check it…
