‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Trailer 3

‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Trailer 3

Despite the very obvious influence of Michael Bay, I’m cautiously optimistc that this might just be good stupid fun. I have no delusions that it will be “good” but can it please just be better than Transformers?

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and her…

‘Snowpiercer’ Trailer

‘Snowpiercer’ Trailer

I’ve had this in my Instapaper queue for several days, possibly before my vacation if memory serves, but I’ve finally gotten around to watching it. I am completely unfamiliar with this story but it seems like it could be a good sci-fi epic. But it also feels like it could just be cheesy and bad. Here is the description from IMDb:

In a future where a failed global-warming experiment kills off all life on the planet except for a lucky few that boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, where a class system evolves.

Check out the trailer and let me know what you think in…

‘The Judge’ Trailer has Robert Downey Jr. Fight the Law to Save Robert Duvall

‘The Judge’ Trailer has Robert Downey Jr. Fight the Law to Save Robert Duvall

Everyone wants to see Iron Man (a.k.a. Robert Downey Jr.) suit up for another Marvel film. Personally, I would enjoy more super hero stuff with Downey, but I’m more interested in the rest of his career.

Mr. Downey and his wife co-produced their very own drama that hits theaters this October 10th. It’s The Judge, the story of a scrupleless lawyer (Robert), his judge father (Robert Duvall), and a tumultuous trial that charges not-so-dear-old-dad with murder. The Judge also stars Billy Bob ThortonLeighton Meester, and Vera Farmiga.

Robert had some nice things to say about his film on…

Reese Witherspoon is ‘A Great White Cow’ in Refugee Drama

Reese Witherspoon is ‘A Great White Cow’ in Refugee Drama

Refugees from Sudan come to America, and it’s ‘A Great White Cow’ Reese Witherspoon that’s picks them up at the airport.

Produced by the makers of The Blind SideThe Good Lie sheds light on trauma in war-ravaged African countries. It’s a story about two journeys: the American woman learning to care about people outside of her bubble, and the refugees’ new life in western civilization—away from their former torments.

Depending on what you choose to dwell on, you could perceive the film to be shallow for dwelling on the savior complex of this American woman. If you think the film is all…

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ UK Trailer 2

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ UK Trailer 2

We’ve seen the humorous side of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy via every single trailer they’ve released so far, but this one shows us a bit more of the serious side. Sure there’s some humor in there because this is definitely going to be a film full of humor, but this is a lot more serious in tone than any previous trailer.

The film opens in six weeks so we can expect the Marvel machine to dial the PR up to eleven at this point. This more serious trailer is probably just the beginning of the final push of the campaign.

Honest Trailer: ‘The Lion King’

Honest Trailer: ‘The Lion King’

I used to like The Lion King when I was a kid. But I have to say on subsequent rewatches as an adult, it’s not that great of a film. But it sure has some great music. And it’s not just plain terrible, so there’s that. And it was certainly the one of the last Disney films that was well animated for quite a long time. Thereafter, Disney started their plunge into that nasty, angular and ugly animation that I hate so much.

In any event, I loved this Honest Trailer for my beloved childhood film.

‘Paddington’ Trailer

‘Paddington’ Trailer

Somehow, I missed Paddington Bear. I don’t know what’s wrong with me or my upbrining or whatever. Maybe it’s normal, although from what I can tell he seems to be somewhat of a sensation. Whatever, I missed it and have never heard of this bear before the movie became a thing.

I can tell you this, if this trailer is any indication, there is not a serious bone in this franchise’s body. This trailer is nothing but cornball goofiness. That’s not to say it’s not entertaining though…

The film will hit theaters on December 25.

‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ “Retaliate” TV Spot

‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ “Retaliate” TV Spot

The Planet of the Apes franchise is an interesting one. I watched the Mark Wahlberg installment and really didn’t like it. This kind of turned me off of the franchise even though the 2011 version was a complete reboot. I just couldn’t bring myself to watch it.

But I finally did watch it and it was okay. Not super great, but not terrible. So with all that said, I have no particular fondness for this franchise and am not extremely excited for the upcoming film, but I’m mildly interested.

So, if you’re slightly interested like me, or more interested, here’s a TV spot for you.

“Peg Leg” Clip From ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’

“Peg Leg” Clip From ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’

I was blown away by How To Train Your Dragon, so consequently I’m soaking up all the previews and stuff coming up from the upcoming How To Train Your Dragon 2. I’ve heard good things from pre-screenings and everyone is pretty happy and/or excited about it.

I’m acutally also listening to the score by John Powell as I write this. Believe me guys, I don’t think we’ll want to miss this one.

Here’s the clip:
