R.I.P.D. Featurette

R.I.P.D. Featurette

So, according to a search, I have not yet posted anything about this upcoming film. I’m starting to look forward to it so I need to rectify that. In two weeks, Jeff Bridges — a dead guy — will be rounding up some up some dead, bloodthirsty, and evil spirits who refuse to move into the afterlife. I know, right?

It sounds like a crazy concept, and I was all prepared to congratulate the filmmakers on an original concept. But the Wikipedia entry seems to indicate that the film is based on a comic book so, never mind. Regardless of that though, it does look like a fun, and somewhat more…

‘Wizard of Oz’ IMAX 3D Trailer

‘Wizard of Oz’ IMAX 3D Trailer

I have a confession to make: I am not a fan of the original Wizard of Oz. You know, the beloved classic featuring Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, Jack Haley, Billie Burke, and Margaret Hamilton. Additionally, I do not like 3D films. So I approach this trailer with a sort of “so what?” attitude.

But even so, I found myself wanting to see the film again — oh, not in 3D, but I realized it has been many, MANY years since I have seen this film. I grew up watching it, it’s part of my childhood. So even though I don’t care for it, I may have to watch it again. The trailer…

‘Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2’ Trailer

Well, I can’t say that someone is holding a gun to my head and forcing me to post this trailer, but I wish that were the case, then I would feel better about the fact that I’m posting something this silly. But, you know, I feel like I should let you guys know about this film.

This looks so silly that I’m not sure I have any desire whatsoever to see this film. I never saw the first film for the same reason. I just went back and watched the trailer for the first film and I certainly remember why I didn’t see it. I feel the same way about this one. Still, if any of you crazy people are…

‘The Mortal Instruments’ Sneak Peak with Lily Collins (Video)

‘The Mortal Instruments’ Sneak Peak with Lily Collins (Video)

Lily Collins, actor in the upcoming fantasy flick The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, gives us a sneak peak at the upcoming fantasy drama. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, this looks like the missing link between Buffy, and Twilight. Frankly, I’d kind of rather see the Sara Michelle Gellar (holy cow, can you believe Buffy is 36 years old now? Has a slayer ever lived that long?), and the Buffy scooby gang back together with high, world ending stakes on the big screen (Dear Mr. Whedon, where do I send my money to make this happen?), but I love fantasy so I’ll take what I can… Read The Rest

‘Turbo’ Theatrical Trailer 2

‘Turbo’ Theatrical Trailer 2

Skepticism. That’s the one word that describes my state of mind in relationship to this film. It feels like they are trying to go for the same sort of charm as many of the Pixar films, and it certainly looks from here like it’s going to be a fail on that level.

I will be happy to be surprised and find out that it is good, but I’m not holding my breath. Also consider that these same filmmakers have put out Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda, so this film’s greatness is not guaranteed in my estimatinon. On the other hand, this is also the team that put out Shrek and Shrek 2, two pretty great…

‘Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters’ International Trailer

‘Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters’ International Trailer

This film could be a fun fantasy flick. I still need to see the first one, which I plan to do before this film comes out. It does have Nathan Fillion in it, which is always fun, and apparently it also has Stanley Tucci, which nearly makes it a must see.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters continues the young demigod’s epic journey to fulfill his destiny. To save their world, Percy and his friends must find the fabled and magical Golden Fleece. Embarking on a treacherous odyssey into the uncharted waters of the Sea of Monsters (known to humans as the Bermuda Triangle), they battle terrifying…

‘Pacific Rim’ - ‘At the Edge’ TV Spot

‘Pacific Rim’ - ‘At the Edge’ TV Spot

Pacific Rim is coming and we can either go big or go home I guess. I’ve been a little hesitant about this film, I haven’t seen a lot before this to indicate that there may be something more than smash ‘em crash ‘em robot stuff. But this trailer does do a little bit more to add a human element to it, for me at least. Or maybe I’m just in an accepting mood right now.

I don’t know, I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. I was wanting and expecting to like Man of Steel, and it turned out to be not much more than smash ‘em crash ‘em, so maybe if I’m just seeing things backwards it’s a good…

‘The Counselor’ Trailer - From Ridley Scott

‘The Counselor’ Trailer - From Ridley Scott

So, Ridley Scott is making a new movie. His previous film, Prometheus has taken it’s hits although it has a decent Tomato Meter rating. And man oh man did I love Gladiator. I have yet to compile that top ten list of my favorite films, but surely Gladiator would be on it. And obviously the guy made Blade Runner which I have yet to see — an omission I intend to rectify soon. He’s made many other films which I have not yet seen but the guy is obviously a great director. And frankly, though possibly a little gory, this trailer looks absolutely amazing and I want to see this.

Rick Santorum Named CEO of Movie Studio

Rick Santorum Named CEO of Movie Studio
Angie Han - /Film

Rick Santorum may not be the president of the United States, but he’s about to become the king of Hollywood. Or a Dallas-based, Christian version of it, anyway.

The former Pennsylvania senator has been named CEO of EchoLight Studios, a production company that aims to make “honest, uplifting content” like 2011′s Soul Surfer, only without “water[ing] down the truth.”

Hmm. Okay. I am certainly not Santorum’s biggest fan, but maybe he can do something cool here, who knows.

Specifically, that means movies like EchoLight’s first theatrical release The Redemption of Henry Myers, a Western…

‘JOBS’ Trailer

‘JOBS’ Trailer

Honestly, I don’t know how to style the text anymore. First it used to be jOBS, then it was JOBS, now I’m seeing it as Jobs. Well whatever, despite how messy the marketing is (and the capitols in the text styling), I’m looking forward to seeing this film, and this trailer has only made me want to see it that much more. Regardless of how you feel about Apple and/or Steve Jobs, there is no doubt that he changed the face of computers, smartphones, even electronics in general forever. And in many ways for the better (even I as a hardcore Apple fan would argue that in some smaller ways things…
