The Helicarrier is going down in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Trailer 2

The Helicarrier is going down in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Trailer 2

And now for something much less heavy.

Marvel has released trailer 2 for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it’s looking mighty good. This is one of the films I’m looking forward to most this year. And man, what a tease on that flash of scene where we see someone apparently dead under a sheet. Who will it be, Director Fury? Who knows, your guess is as good as mine at this point.

But I can tell you that on April 4th, I’ll be seated in the theater watching me some Captain America. His first movie was my favorite before The Avengers in Phase 1, I’m hoping not to be disappointed this time…

‘The Lego Movie’ Gets ‘Man of Steel’ Treatment

‘The Lego Movie’ Gets ‘Man of Steel’ Treatment

Well, Man of Steel may have turned out to be one of the more terrible films I’ve ever seen in my life, but it had some doggone good trailers.  So I’m not sorry that The Lego Movie has given their latest trailer the Man of Steel trailer treatment. This is completely with Hans Zimmer’s triumphant soundtrack and everything.

I can’t wait to see this movie. It opens on February 7th.

‘Noah’ Superbowl Spot

‘Noah’ Superbowl Spot

So I hate sports, I hate watching it, and most of all, I hate football. I know how unAmerican that is of me and I don’t care.

But, one thing cool that does happen during the Superbowl is we get a lot of spots and trailers for upcoming films. And a lot of them can be good and creative. I don’t know that this one is very creative, but it seems pretty good. While I’m still figuring on this movie being both bad and sacrilegious, I have a tiny shred of hope for it. So I’ll continue to wait tentatively.

It is interesting, this interest in Christian themed films of late. I don’t quite know what to…

“But hey, if she’s gonna run off with another man, why not Jesus?”

What. Did. I. Just. Watch? Oh my goodness this is so bad — SO BAD! Please tell me this is some sort of alternate reality. What is it about any Christian themed film that tends to be so cheesy? Forget the fact that the premise of this work by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins is just so fatally flawed in terms of theology, I mean I can’t get past how terrible this clip is. Absolutely awful. And the music… geez…

‘Thor: The Dark World’ Deleted Scene — Promo for Home Video Release

Thor and his mother, Frigga, discuss Loki’s situation in a new deleted scene from Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World”! Catch all the deleted scenes along with behind-the-scenes featurettes and more when “Thor: The Dark World” hits Digital 3D and Digital HD February 4 and 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray and DVD February 25!

I like it. Thor the Dark World was certainly one of the better non-Avenger Marvel films and I’ll be glad to watch it again in the comfort of my home! And this scene feels like it should have stayed in the film anyway.

[spoiler alert]

Also, geez guys, way to remind us how much pain…

9 Clips and a Featurette from the Upcoming ‘Lego Movie’

9 Clips and a Featurette from the Upcoming ‘Lego Movie’

Man, this is the right way to market a film. Especially that featurette! I am now legitimately excited for this film. Also, let me tell you that the voice cast for this film is pretty much perfect in every way.

I played with LEGOs a LOT as a kid but I don’t think I was every this imaginative or could have conceived of something like this. This looks like a lot of fun.

The film will be out on February 7th and stars Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, and Liam Neeson (among others).

Mark Ruffalo Says ‘Avengers 2’ is “More Awesomer”

Mark Ruffalo Says ‘Avengers 2’ is “More Awesomer”

This is from a week ago, but as I’ve already metioned, there wasn’t a lot going on over the weekend that was of interest to me. And this is one I had saved to talk about but never got around to.

Recently in an interview with MTV, Ruffalo say that Avengers 2 is “better, it’s cooler, it’s more awesomer,” It’s a little bit darker, but also really has Joss Whedon’s incredibly, witty and sly sense of humor.” There’s also apparently more for Bruce Banner to do.

Obviously I would expect Joss Whedon’s next Avengers film to be better, but I’m glad to hear that Bruce Banner may be made better use of.…

‘Maleficent’ Trailer Set to ‘Once Upon a Dream’

‘Maleficent’ Trailer Set to ‘Once Upon a Dream’

If the tone of the upcoming Maleficent film has been hard to pin down before now, I think this trailer will help you on that front a little bit. This trailer is set to the classic tune from Disney’s original Sleeping Beauty, but there’s a twist. This version of the song by Lana Del Rey is haunting and hollow and turns sinister. In addition, Angelina Jolie effects the most sinisterly creepy smile you’ve ever seen in the first few seconds of the trailer.

I’m starting to get much more interested in this film now. The film opens in theaters on May 30, 2014 staring Angelina Jolie as Maleficent,…

2 New Clips from RoboCop

2 New Clips from RoboCop

RoboCop is about to hit theaters so the last little bits of promo material are dropping on us now. You can check out the previous three trailers and my thoughts here, here, and here.

This film definitely has some interesting things going on and I’m excited to see if it’s any good. This time of year is not a great one for cinema but I’ll wait and see before I pass premature judgement. I think the themes promised in the trailers are worth checking out. It looks like there’s definitely an aspect of the war between man and machine going on and how the film presents this and answers these…

‘300: Rise of An Empire’ Trailer 3

‘300: Rise of An Empire’ Trailer 3

If you want to see a film about vengence and violence, then Zack Snyder’s upcoming 300: Rise of an Empire may just be the right film for you.

Also, I never knew before the slow motion filmography could actually be its own character in a film, but it appears according to the trailer that Snyder has accomplished just that.

A lot of peopl really loved the first 300 film and it brought in a lot of money, so a sequel was inevitable. and it doesn’t look like an altogether bad sequel at that — at leaset not so far.
